I wanted to give you my thoughts on the original Hyundai/Kia oil filter.

Let's talk about the product first. Honestly, we don't often buy original filters. If there are cheaper alternatives, we go for those. But this time, the choice was limited. The manager offered a super cheap, Chinese-made filter for around 300 rubles, but we immediately ruled that out. Then there was Mann, which we wanted to get, but it was even pricier than the original - around 630 rubles. And the third option was the original, which, as you've probably guessed, is what we ended up buying, paying 520 rubles.
Now, about whether it's a fake or not. I don't think so - you can easily replicate the cardboard box, but the filter itself is harder to fake. For example, if you take a closer look at the photo above, you'll see a yellow arrow pointing to the Hyundai logo on the rubber grommet. There's also a red arrow showing the same logo on the inside of the filter. Plus, a green arrow points to the letter 'Y', which, I've read online, stands for the first letter of the factory where the product is made. And, as you can see, the filter has a ribbed edge on the inside, all the holes are perfectly made, and the gasket is defect-free.
Another plus is the graphical sticker on top, which shows the Earth with moving continents when you turn it. Based on all these details, I'm pretty sure this filter is the real deal.

Honestly, my husband and I have done a lot of our car repairs ourselves. We've changed the oil filter in our car engine before, watched plenty of videos, read reviews, and decided to do it our way. Maybe back in the day, when oil was thicker, you needed to fill it up, but now oil is pretty thin, and we don't see the need.

So, to sum it up, the filter does its job well, and I'd recommend it. However, it's not particularly impressive. If you have the chance to get a cheaper, yet quality filter, why not?
