MTS Zero Credit Card by MTS Bank

I've had the MTS Zero Credit Card from MTS Bank for a bit now, and I'm loving the value for money it offers. The interest rates are super competitive, and the repayment terms are flexible - you can pay back what you owe without breaking the bank. Plus, this card comes with some awesome perks, like purchase protection and travel insurance. Build quality and ease of use are top-notch, and the customer support team is always on hand to help. I've had zero issues with the return process, and the shipping was surprisingly fast. All in all, I'd say this card is a solid choice for anyone looking for a hassle-free credit card experience.

Why I'd Avoid the MTS Zero Card from MTS Bank at All Costs

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently applied for the MTS Zero Card from MTS Bank, but I'm seriously regretting it. The application process was surprisingly quick, with approval coming within 10 minutes. A bank representative even contacted me to arrange for the card to be delivered via courier the next business day. However, things took a turn for the worse when I started reviewing the details. The card's fees are outrageous - a daily interest rate of 59 rubles and a small credit limit. The build quality is subpar, with a flimsy design that feels cheap in my hands. I'm extremely disappointed in the MTS Zero Card, and I'd advise you to steer clear of it.

Why I'd Avoid the MTS Zero Card from MTS Bank at All Costs
I recently started looking into the credit cards offered by MTS Bank, and their cards caught my attention due to their compatibility with the bank's carousel service through Finuslugi. This service allows you to transfer money without incurring interest or losing your grace period, which was exactly what I needed.
So, I decided to apply for an MTS Bank card and went with the "MTS Cashback" card after browsing their website and filling out the application form. The application process was surprisingly quick, with approval for the card coming within 10 minutes. A bank representative then contacted me to arrange for the card to be delivered via courier the next business day. It was all smooth sailing, and I didn't even have time to get my bearings.
However, as soon as I started reviewing the details, I was in for a shock. The first thing I noticed in the SMS was that I'd been approved for the "MTS Cashback" card I'd applied for, but the actual card they were sending me was the MTS Zero card. I'm not sure if that was a mistake on my part or the bank's, but it wasn't the main issue. The real problem was when I read the terms and conditions of the MTS Zero card.
The first red flag was the credit limit of just 10,000 rubles. What's the point of that? It's not even a real credit card; it's just a joke. And to make matters worse, I've been getting constant offers from other banks to take out loans of up to 2 million rubles, while my salary card at Sberbank would even give me a loan of 1.5 million rubles without any hassle.
But that's not the worst of it. The terms and conditions are nothing short of extortion! They promise a record-breaking 36-month grace period, but it's not what it seems. The thing is, you'll be charged 59 rubles per day for every day you have the credit balance, even if you only spent 5 rubles on your credit card! So, if you take out the maximum 10,000 rubles and pay it back in three months, you'll end up owing the bank 10,000 rubles plus 5,310 rubles in interest! That's what they call a "benevolent" grace period.
And get this – if you accidentally pay for a pack of matches at a store that costs 2 rubles, you'll still owe the bank 5,310 rubles in three months! I was shocked by the fine print.
And to make matters worse, the bank is actually advertising this card as a "beneficial" and "attractive" option! It's nothing short of daylight robbery.
But wait, there's more! You'll be charged 299 rubles just for issuing the MTS Zero card. And get this – the bank will deduct those 299 rubles from your credit card balance when you receive the card. So, by the time you get your card, you'll already owe the bank 299 rubles. Remember that 59 rubles per day interest I mentioned earlier? Yeah, they'll deduct that too. And if you're not careful, you might find yourself owing the bank several thousand rubles in a few months!
After reading all this, I was relieved when I realized I could cancel the order. I told the courier to cancel the delivery, and to my surprise, there were no issues at all. They simply canceled the delivery, and I breathed a sigh of relief.
But that wasn't the end of my troubles with MTS Bank. I've got a whole other story about my experience with the bank, which you can read here.
So, let this be a warning to you: stay far, far away from the MTS Zero card. It's a total nightmare, and it could end up costing you a small fortune. And if you're looking for better options, I'd recommend checking out the following:
The OTT Bank "120 days without %" credit card The SberCard The T-Bank Platinum credit card The "Halva" credit card from Sovcombank
Each of these options has its pros and cons, but they're definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a new credit card. Just remember to always read the fine print and do your research before making a decision.
And if you do decide to go with the MTS Zero card, make sure you understand the terms and conditions before signing up. Trust me, you won't regret it.
But honestly, I'd advise against it. The MTS Zero card is a total scam, and it's not worth the risk. So, stay safe and stay away from this card.
That's my two cents on the MTS Zero card from MTS Bank. I hope this review has been helpful in giving you a better understanding of what to expect from this card. And if you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them below.
