Summer's over, and we're smack in the middle of autumn, which means it's time to prep our trusty vehicles for winter. That involves changing the oil, flushing out the coolant, greasing the rubber seals, and so on. And, of course, swapping out the summer tires for winter ones. I'll save my thoughts on winter tires for another review. For now, I want to share my impressions of the Matador MP 47 Hectorra 3 tires in size 175/65 R14.
I'll admit, these tires are fitted to my Hyundai Getz. The manufacturer's recommendations suggested going with larger tires, which might have looked cooler, but the point is, we bought this car for fuel efficiency, so we opted for the 14-inch size.
Now, about the tires themselves - they were made in 2018.
I bought and installed them in 2019. At the time, I'm not sure what the price was per tire, but if you dig around online or visit a store, you'll see that the current price range is around 4,000 to 4,700 rubles.

Let's talk about how durable and long-lasting these tires are.
First of all, let's talk about durability. I'm a pretty aggressive driver, and I've been in some hairy situations on the road. I've taken sharp turns, driven on the edge of the road, and hit some pretty rough potholes. But despite all that, these tires have held up amazingly well. I've had them for a while now, and I've yet to see a single crack or bulge. The tread is still looking great, and the tires have shown no signs of wear.
I've also been impressed with how well these tires have held up to wear. I've put a lot of miles on them, and they still look great. One of the tires does have a bit of wear on one side, but that's because I drove without proper tire pressure for a while. You can see it in the photo above.
It's worth noting that I'm not a speed demon - I usually cruise at around 60-70 mph. I've never really pushed the tires to their limits, and I think that's helped them last longer. I've also been pretty gentle on the brakes, so that's probably helped too. But even so, I'm impressed with how well these tires have held up. There are no cracks or tears in the tread, and they still look like new.
I have to say, these tires are pretty soft. I've had other tires in the past that were just as soft, but they wore out a lot faster. I'm hoping these will last me a while longer. I've gotta say, there are a lot of positives about these tires. One thing that caught my eye is the tread is a bit harder, but the grip on the road is really good. I also want to mention that when I drive in the rain, there's no aquaplaning at all. Of course, it all depends on the speed and how deep the puddles are. But on the other hand, my car weighs just a ton, and when I hit a puddle at around 60 km/h, it doesn't throw me off course.

Compasal BLAZER is a quiet, soft, and comfortable-riding tire. Nitto tires are a normal, non-slippery option that won't freeze on cold days and won't cause any problems if you turn on the traction control.
Viatti Bosco AT V-237 215/60 R17 tires are a great option for the price - you won't find anything better for this price.
Not for extreme, Ural-style cold snaps.
Bridgestone Ice Cruiser 7000 tires really grip the snow and behave predictably on ice.
Reasonable value for money at 4,000 rubles. Good grip on the road. No aquaplaning in the rain. Long-lasting and durable. Soft and comfortable ride.
Price may be steep at 4,700 rubles. Not suitable for extreme cold snaps.
