Hello everyone. Today I'm here to share a super easy way to give your manicure a little extra something. I have to admit, I have a ton of respect for nail artists - their work is always a tiny masterpiece. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly the next Picasso, even in school I struggled with art. But, I get it, not everyone is a creative genius. So, what's a girl to do when she wants to add some personality to her nails? Well, for us non-artistic types, there's a solution - nail stickers! Today, I'm excited to share my experience with LAQUE nail stickers. I wore them all summer on a nude background, and I'm obsessed.
What drew me to them was the gorgeous floral designs - I fell in love at first sight. I ordered two sheets to try them out, and then ended up buying a few more.
LAQUE Water-stikers are water-based nail stickers that are super easy to use, have a huge selection, and are affordable.
I bought them on Wildberries.
Price: 99-150 rubles. That's what I paid for my stickers. There are cheaper and more expensive options out there. For example, since autumn is no longer in season, there are discounts on autumn-themed stickers. On the other hand, New Year's stickers are currently more expensive due to high demand. By the way, there's so much beauty out there that I got stuck in the catalog, but I managed to drag myself out of it. I've already accumulated so much stuff that I don't know where to put it.
By the way, to make things easier, I recently bought a special album for my nail stickers. Everything is neatly organized and easy to find.
Sliders from LAQUE arrive in transparent pouches. There's a sticker with the manufacturer's details, composition, and... expiration date. That's interesting, as this kind of product usually doesn't have an expiration date, but the manufacturer specifies a 3-year shelf life here.
At the bottom, there's a solid backing to prevent the stickers from getting creased during transport. And a insert with the instructions.
I'll add a little tip here. You don't necessarily need a special topcoat for the sliders - any material with an adhesive layer will do. This is in case you're unsure about the application and might need to move the slider around. Or for French tips. If you apply the sticker precisely, you can even get away without any residual tackiness, and the sliders will stick to any surface.
Check out the sheet. The designs aren't raised - they're completely flat.
The sizes fit the most popular nail length. Although some of the designs are a bit large. I was about to send these back, but then I decided I could just cut them up if needed. Luckily, they all fit perfectly. I've got to say, the LAQUE Water-stikers nail art design is super versatile - the transparent overlay works with any background, and the images are nice and bold. My girls, though, prefer softer shades.
Okay, let's take a look at my collection.
I've already shown you two of my faves up top. These are my go-tos - I've almost sold out of them already!
The girls also loved these lush pink flowers.
And these little flower designs with gold accents didn't go unnoticed either.
This one's new - I haven't tried it out yet.
And this 'smile' design has been super popular lately.
I love the gradient effect here - it's so much faster than trying to draw it freehand!
And the best part? No hassle whatsoever!
How to work with sliders.
First things first, we cut out the picture we need. We try to cut as close to the contour as possible.
Then we soak the cut-out piece in water. I know the manufacturer recommends using warm water, but honestly, I've always used cold water and it's made no difference. If you're soaking it in a container, make sure to lay it out on a paper towel to get rid of excess moisture.
Or, you know, you can make it even simpler: just wet a cotton pad, lay the cut-out pieces on it with the picture side up, and you're good to go. While I'm applying the top coat, the others just sit there and don't dry out.
I transfer the picture by sliding it off the backing or using a stamp. I wet the picture in a container, fished it out, blotted it dry, placed it on the stamp, and slid the backing off. You'll only pick up the film with the cotton pad, and the backing will come off easily.
And then I just apply it to my nail.
I smooth it out, and if needed, I move it to the right spot – remember, you need a sticky layer for that. Once the picture is in place, I apply a top coat.
And that's it!
How easy is that?
I'm obsessed with sliders because of their simplicity and beauty, and LAQUE sliders are a bonus with their excellent quality. The film is thin but elastic, and one layer of top coat is enough. Both me and my girlfriends have had amazing results – not a single picture has bubbled under the top coat, and no nails have cracked. Plus, the thin film means the top coat won't be too thick.
I've gotta say, these sliders don't budge when I move them, unlike those YeSlider ones I tried. Ugh, those were a pain to deal with. But LAQUE? Perfectly flawless.
I'm giving them a solid 5 stars and I highly recommend you try them out. I'm confident you won't be disappointed.
Also, check out these other products I mentioned in my review:
Camouflage base for gel polish Voice of Kalipso Cover base. Love at first swipe. The perfect milk base that works for both short and long nails.Na_El milk top without a tacky layer. For the perfect milk one-coat.On the other hand, I'd advise you to steer clear of:
BSG Hard Top without a tacky layer. It didn't live up to my expectations. I was hoping it'd be like wearing a great pair of socks, but it just didn't work out.TNL Professional Nude dream base. I had high hopes for it, but unfortunately, it was a letdown.
