Winter Wonderland in a Candle: My Fave New Year's Vibes

I'm a total sucker for nice-smelling homes. I've tried so many diffusers and essential oils, but now that it's winter, it's time for candles. I ordered these on Vb, and they're super affordable. Plus, you can choose an aroma to match your mood and taste.

The candles arrived in a cardboard box and bubble wrap. I checked the packaging for any damage at the post office.

This candle is a solid soy wax with a wooden wick in a glass jar with a lid.

The packaging is minimal - just the jar and a white sticker with the name. There's no information about the manufacturer or ingredients.

First time lighting the candle, burn it for 40-50 minutes to melt the wax evenly. Don't burn the candle for more than 2 hours at a time to avoid overheating the glass! Cover the flame with the lid - if you blow out the candle, the aroma might get ruined. If the flame is too weak, carefully remove some wax near the wick to help it get stronger.

The wick is wooden and flat. There's a lot of wax - it fills the entire jar right up to the top.The aroma is amazing, with cinnamon dominating and orange in the background.

The candle lights easily with just one match.

Langiza Candle - Orange and Cinnamon I've got to say, the two Langiza candles I've got here are pretty cool. One's got a spicy mulled wine scent, and the other's got a nice orange and cinnamon vibe. I've already burned the mulled wine one before, so this is its second go-round - and let me tell you, it's burning brighter, longer, and with a bigger flame than the orange one. The soy wax melts way slower than the paraffin stuff, which is a total game-changer. Unlike regular candles where some of the wax just evaporates or drips down the sides, this Langiza candle's wax melts evenly and forms a nice pool of liquid wax that covers the whole surface. These Langiza candles burn nice and steady, with a decent flame. Langiza Candle - Orange and Cinnamon The atmosphere they create is cozy, romantic, and totally winter-y. But, to be honest, the scent is more like what you'd find in a church - I barely smell the orange or cinnamon. It's mostly just the wax and the wooden wick. My space doesn't get aromatized, either.

I was really looking forward to the soothing crackle sound, but it's more like uneven tapping. I tried to read a book while the candle was burning, but the sound drove me nuts - it's not calming at all. I don't know why, since I love the sound of a campfire or raindrops on the roof.

These candles last way longer than your average paraffin candles.
