Hello again, not again, but again! A little less than a year ago, I got myself a kitchen set in a proud pinkish hue. I call this shade "diluted non-stop." And I've been gradually updating my appliances and dishes. The pots, for example, are also from Kukmara. I realized I've never had a pancake griddle! Of course, I could've made do with the basic one, but I just couldn't sleep. Although I do make pancakes, not very often, to be honest. I decided to rectify this historical injustice. And, naturally, I chose the pink one from Kukmara.

I'm really glad now that I can make purchases easily, with such a great selection on Vb. It cost me 1440 rubles, which is pretty okay for a pan. By the way, the manufacturer has loads of different colors, even in the style of the Golden Apple - haha.

Usage and Cleaning

The pan is actually pretty light, so my hands don't feel like they're carrying a bunch of bricks after making a dozen pancakes. Plus, I've recently got a new exhaust system, so cooking doesn't even feel like a chore anymore. That's a great combo, right?

Nothing burns, which is probably a testament to my awesome spatula from Fixi. But, the pancakes do come off easily. Too bad it's not a lovely shade of pink, but rather a dull orange. Oh well, let's just blame it on Erme.

Now, about cleaning... I've noticed that the inside of the pan gets spotless in the dishwasher - not a single stain in sight. However, the exterior often gets clogged with grime. I mean, my stovetop is new, and I wipe it down every evening, not to mention at least twice a week with Azelit. It's almost like magic. So, sometimes I have to use Azelit on the back of the pan as well, and only then can I put it in the dishwasher.

By the way, About the Dishwasher. The pan has one major downside - you can't remove the handle. And that's a problem because it takes up space in the machine. I have to do some serious Tetris with the other dishes around it, which, honestly, is a real pain.

Pancakes - The Real Deal!

Now, let's talk about the taste. I have to admit, the first batch was a total disaster and I was about to blame the pancake maker. But then I realized it was the pre-mix I was using - it was a new one I'd tried out. I remembered an old recipe I'd found on YouTube like 10 years ago, and I decided to go back to that.

On the photo, you can see the pre-mix I was using, which I've since scratched out and replaced with regular flour - just a heads up.

So, what do we need?

a pinch of salt;a cup of flour, about 250ml;2 tablespoons of sugar;and another pinch of baking soda;300ml of milk, or a bit more, medium-fat works best;2 eggs;and 30ml of vegetable oil.I grabbed a large mixing bowl and let's get started!

First, I sprinkle some salt. Then I crack in the eggs and gently whisk them together. Next, I add in the kefir. After that, I add in the soda to neutralize the kefir. I add in the sugar. Then I add in a third of the milk. I slowly add in the flour through a sifter, whisking until the lumps disappear. Next, I add in the remaining milk, slowly. And finally, I add in the oil. I cranked up the skillet to max heat. I gave it a quick swipe with some butter, then poured in my first pancake. Let me tell you, mine never turn out too great - haha.

But after that, my hand gets a bit greasy and I end up with some pretty thin pancakes. Of course, I slather them in butter in between.

I managed to whip up 14 pancakes for my eggs. Time to break out the Maslenitsa gear!
