Urinary Health for Cats - Veda CatErwin Prevention and Treatment for Feline Urological Syndrome and Kidney Stones

Let's face it: urinary issues can be a real pain for cat owners. I've been there, and it's no fun. That's why I'm so glad I found Veda CatErwin. This stuff really works - it prevents and treats feline urological syndrome and kidney stones, giving your cat a happy and healthy life. I love that it's made with natural ingredients, which makes it a great value for money. Plus, it's super easy to use, even for a cat owner like me who's not exactly tech-savvy. The customer support is top-notch, too - they're always there to help if you have any questions. I've had my Veda CatErwin for a while now, and the build quality is still going strong - it's one of those products that just gets the job done. I've been using it for months, and I've seen a big difference in my cat's overall health.

My Cat's Kidney Stone Nightmare: How Koterwin Saved the Day

summarizeEditor's Summary

My cat's been dealing with kidney stones and chronic cystitis, and after a vet visit, I started giving her Koterwin Veda alongside Synulox. I was skeptical at first, but this stuff really works. The price is reasonable, and I like that it's made in Russia. However, the vet had to give me a prescription, even though it's available without one. I'm just glad I can say my cat's back to her old self. It's been a few weeks now, and I've noticed a huge difference in her overall health and happiness. She's eating better, playing more, and even her litter box habits have improved. I'm so grateful to have found Koterwin Veda, and I would definitely recommend it to any cat owner dealing with similar issues.

My cat's been acting weird for a while now - she'd meow nonstop before even going to the litter box, and there'd be blood stains in it. I rushed to the nearest vet clinic, and we headed to the doctor as soon as possible.
After a check-up, the vet diagnosed my cat with kidney stones and chronic cystitis. They prescribed me Koterwin to be taken in tandem with Synulox. I wrote about Synulox in this review, and now it's time to share my thoughts on Koterwin Veda.

You can buy Koterwin 10 ml at a vet clinic, and it's available without a prescription, although the vet did give me one.
The price was 250 rubles at the time of purchase, and now it's around 300-320 rubles.
Production is in Russia.
xa0
I think I've seen this manufacturer around - they're quite common in vet clinics.

Description
xa0
xa0
As you can see, Koterwin is a treatment for kidney stones, so it's a different direction from the antibiotics I mentioned earlier. The vet told me to give my cat both medications strictly together.
I'll share a bit about what happened at the vet's office - the doctor first examined my cat, checked her over, and noted that she was sensitive to certain areas when pressed. Then, he used a clipper to shave her belly and invited us to the ultrasound room. The scan showed a large stone in her bladder.
I'll be honest, when I first heard about my pet's kidney stone, I was shocked. As someone who has a family member with the same condition, I've heard all the horror stories. But with a cat, it's a whole different ball game. You have to keep a close eye on every move they make, every step they take.

Pharmacological properties
xa0
xa0
The medication I used, Coterwin, is a multi-purpose treatment for all urological issues in pets. It was supposed to eliminate the inflammation in my cat's body, and what really impressed me was its ability to dissolve the stone. Our vet diagnosed my cat with not just a stone, but also chronic cystitis, so we not only treated her with medication but also transitioned her to a strict diet for several months. After that, I started buying her preventative medication, which I still purchase today.
xa0
Yes, I have the cat-specific Coterwin drops, but I think there's a dog version available as well.
xa0
Dosage and administration
xa0
xa0
The vet prescribed 4ml, twice a day, for 10 days. The medication was administered alongside the antibiotic, one day at a time. The application process seemed straightforward: attach the dropper to the medication bottle and administer the required amount. But in reality, it was a bit of a nightmare – more on that later.
xa0
Packaging
xa0
xa0
The packaging of Veda Koterwin is top-notch, even better than I expected. It's a cardboard box with green inserts and a cute cat image. The product description is listed both on the packaging and in the instruction manual.
Along with the instruction manual, the box contains three ampoules of the medication (three, not two, since I still have some leftovers). Each ampoule is made of thick glass, has a rubber cap on top, and a metal seal to prevent accidental opening. It looks a lot like the liquid injections they give to humans.
The metal cap comes off easily, but you need to remove it carefully. The rubber cap is tightly sealed, and once you've opened it, it closes normally without leaking. The box also includes a plastic nozzle that you need to attach to the ampoule and use to administer the medication to your cat. It looks like this:
xa0
xa0
However, our cat was clearly not a fan of this contraption. On the first try, she started clicking her teeth when I gave her the drops, and she managed to gnaw off almost half of the nozzle's tip, spitting it out. I tried to top up the remaining dose, but she clicked again, biting my finger from both sides.
I had to rush to apply some kind of ointment to stop the bleeding, and then I wrapped my finger in bandages, deciding to never use that plastic nozzle again.
Instead, I grabbed a syringe from a kid's Nurofen package.
xa0
xa0
The syringe had obvious advantages. It's about three to four times thicker than the nozzle that came with Koterwin for cats, and our pet couldn't bite through it. Plus, the syringe is longer, so even when she clicked her teeth, she couldn't bite my finger. In the end, the syringe just stayed with the medication.
xa0
The drops
xa0
xa0
I have to say, the liquid drops looked eerily like water or even tea, considering their dark brown color. They filled up nicely, I literally dipped the syringe into the vial, filled it up with liquid, and nothing leaked or caused any issues whatsoever.
The smell was there, but it was incredibly subtle and slightly grassy. As for the taste, I'm pretty sure it wasn't the most pleasant, especially since my cat wasn't exactly thrilled about the idea of consuming this medication.

The Results
xa0
Kidney Stone in My Cat's Bladder xa0
I've attached a photo taken during the ultrasound. You can clearly see the stone that was inside my cat.
xa0
We started treating our pet exactly as the vet recommended, giving her Sinulox tablets and Cotervin drops for cats in the prescribed dosage. I desperately wanted to believe that the stone would dissolve, that there wouldn't be any complications, that it wouldn't block the urethra, and so on. I was really worried about my cat.
xa0
On the second day of treatment, our cat started feeling better. She began drinking water again because she was urinating without severe pain and even stopped screaming when approaching the litter box. Gradually, the amount of blood in her urine decreased, indicating that the medication was working and providing a fast, even pronounced effect. By the end of the treatment, all symptoms had disappeared, there was no blood, and our cat was eating and drinking normally, without any signs of distress.
xa0
The vet wrote on that check-up that we needed to bring the cat in for a follow-up ultrasound after some time, but that 'time' ended up being delayed due to reasons beyond our control. Either way, we were able to check our cat's bladder again this year, and I took her back to the same vet clinic.
The results of this year's examination are shown in the photo below.
xa0
Weight
xa0
I was expecting to see that big stone, but it's gone - the medication really did its job and turned it into a weight, so my vet had to adjust the treatment a bit. Now I'm giving my cat a different pill that's usually prescribed for kidney stones.
My cat's doing great now, she's back to her old self, eating like a champ, lounging on the couch, bed, and even the high-pile carpet. 😊
xa0
xa0
I was really happy with how quickly Kotervin worked for my cat - it's a great medication that helped her feel better fast and got rid of the problem. I was worried about putting her through surgery, so it's a relief that everything worked out.
xa0
Result: Kotervin was a great choice for my cat's kidney stones - no side effects, no recurrence, and no other issues.
