Hello everyone, and welcome to my review!

I've got a pretty intense story to share with you about our third cat, who suffered some serious abuse and has been dealing with psychological trauma for life.

My husband's grandmother, who lived alone in her old age, would often ask him to bring her a kitten. Before that, she had a small dog that she had rescued from the streets, but unfortunately, it had passed away.

My husband started searching online, and he found a woman who was breeding kittens from a backyard cat. She told him that there was one grey kitten who had been treated cruelly, and she had already placed it with some friends. However, my husband wasn't satisfied, and he threw the kitten in a corner of the room. The kitten then hid under the bed for the entire day. Eventually, the woman came back to take the kitten back.

That's how the kitten ended up with my husband's grandmother, who was about three months old at the time, in December 2019. It stayed with her for a year. Whenever we visited her, the kitten would initially stay hidden. My grandmother-in-law would tell us that the kitten would rarely come out to eat or use the litter box, and then hide in a closet. They say that cats have short memories, but I think Kolya (that's what my grandmother-in-law named the kitten) remembered the trauma for life!

However, Kolya started coming out and playing with us, but only for a short while before hiding again. My grandmother-in-law would often tell us about Kolya's mischievous behavior, like eating flowers, knocking over pots, and scattering litter everywhere. We couldn't believe that a small kitten could do such things.

Kolya started using the litter box, scratching the cat tree, and sometimes even the walls, and would eat the food we bought for him, which he loved. He also enjoyed playing with various cat toys and not just them.

After grandma passed away, we took Kolya in.

Kolya was already a year old, but he looked like a tiny kitten. He was super timid, tiny, and didn't look like he was even close to a year old. Our adult cats didn't see him as a threat and pretty much accepted him right away.

Here's what he looked like at a year and three months.

We call our little Kolya the 'peacekeeper' because whenever our two other cats start fighting, Kolya comes over and sits between them, and they calm down. Well, most of the time, anyway.

Just like before, Kolya was still super timid, and nothing had changed - he'd still jump at any little noise. And when we have guests over, people he's not familiar with, he'll just hide until they leave.

I call this little guy my little troublemaker. His favorite pastime is knocking things over. It's even better if someone's nearby to scold him. He loves the attention and will just stand there, enjoying the show. It's like the old song goes, 'You can't get famous for doing good!' Just the other night, he knocked over a new vase with flowers. The vase survived the ordeal! But all sorts of toys, phones, spoons, and more just go flying across the floor. Sometimes things go missing, but I'm pretty sure he just pushed them under the couch or something.

My little guy is super affectionate! Sometimes too affectionate... I'll be sitting on the couch in the evening, having a cup of tea, and he'll jump right onto my lap. Needless to say, I won't be having my tea anytime soon. It's hard to shoo him away, but sometimes it's necessary. And, funnily enough, he's also a great comfort when I'm feeling down. He'll come over, meow, and snuggle up on my lap.

I've noticed that cats are said to absorb negative energy, and I think that's true! They also seem to help people recover. They'll often curl up right next to you and stay there for a while.

My grandma used to tell us that our cat, Kolya, would come and start singing a lullaby every night before she went to bed. It was the sweetest thing!

We also had another cat, Vaska, who used to live on the rooftop where our director's office was located.

My brother and his wife were feeding Vaska, but the long New Year's holidays were looming, and Vaska could have died. We took him home on December 30, three months after Kolya moved in with us on a permanent residence. Why was he? Because they couldn't find common ground with our two cats. With Kolya, they always played together. Maybe because they were the same age and had nothing to divide. We had to give Vaska to his mother-in-law. Vaska is doing great there, alone, without other animals. Kolya eats our Florida cat food for sterilized cats Florida for sterilized cats. Sometimes, we give him Monge Cat Sterilized cat food. Yes, Kolya is a sterilized cat. He uses the absorbent for cats and sharpens his claws on the claw grinder (I still haven't written a review about it). And, he loves posing for photos!

This is his new favorite spot for sleeping at night and during the day:

I've had a special place in my heart for cats since I lost my own cat, Anfisa, who lived with me for 18 years. It was a real heartbreak, and I didn't want any pets for a long time after that. But then I met Kolya, and everything changed.

So, that's the story about our cat. Cats bring so much joy and comfort to our lives, and I feel grateful to have Kolya as a part of our family.
