Hello there!

I've gotta say, the cities and nature around here are absolutely stunning. There's so much beauty to take in when you're traveling.

We only spent a few days in Kislovodsk, but we managed to hit all the main sights.

Narzan Gallery.

Kislovodsk National Park.

Boulevard.

Central Market.

And, of course, the obligatory Chubukovs (not really my thing, but they're everywhere). So when we saw one at the beginning of our walk, I thought, 'okay, that's cute.' But then we saw a whole gang of them, and it felt like the whole city was overrun with them.

We arrived in Kislovodsk on a pretty rainy day.

We had seen the forecast, but there was nothing we could do about it. We just rolled with it and made the most of the situation. So out came the rain ponchos and umbrellas. By the way, rain ponchos are super popular in the city – you can find them in all sorts of colors and sizes in every souvenir stand.

It's a beautiful golden time of year.

We found our apartment on Avito, just off the boulevard, so we could walk everywhere and cut down on public transportation and taxis. From the train station, we walked to our temporary digs with our suitcases and kids in about 15 minutes.

The boulevard is stunning – beautiful architecture and an interesting history to boot. Like all central streets, it's well-maintained and perfect for a leisurely stroll. We just walked along and stopped at the main sights without needing to take any detours.

I spent a lot of time on the train reading 'A Demon' by Lermontov – it's a pretty sad story, but it really got to me.

Narzan Gallery – admission is free.

I'd recommend checking out the Narzan Gallery's schedule, though – they have long breaks in between. A cup of water costs 10 rubles.

I didn't want to generate any trash, so I brought my own little cups.

That's where Kislovodsk National Park starts – it's huge and beautiful. We dedicated a whole day to exploring it.

In the fall, it's just stunning – the paths and trails are covered in golden leaves.

And the heavenly scent of pine.

We took the funicular in the park, which works well on a nice day. I'd recommend getting there bright and early, or you'll be stuck in a long queue. We headed down from the top station around 1 pm, and the queue was already snaking out of the park.

Nightlife, or at least the evening in the city, is pretty lively and beautiful.

We also visited the Dombay mountains from Kисловодск.

I'd recommend not eating breakfast before visiting the park, as you'll be bombarded with food options: 'try this, try that, it's delicious!'

The Central Market in Kисловодск is like a market, but with a local twist. I'd suggest stocking up on sausages and cheese as souvenirs. And don't eat breakfast before visiting the park, trust me.

The prices for products are more or less the same as back home, at stores like Красное-белое and Магнит. We don't have those stores where I'm from, so I'm not sure what to compare them to.

Souvenirs are priced similarly to what we're used to.

Excursions are pricey, but I guess that's just how it is everywhere. We're used to doing our own thing and not paying for guided tours back home.

Accommodation depends on the location, and we chose to stay in a place near the city center, so it wasn't cheap.
