summarizeEditor's Summary

I was given 'Kamasutra for the Orator' by a friend, and I have to say, the title was pretty intriguing. I dove in expecting something unique, and to some extent, my expectations were met. This book, written by Radislav Gandapass, offers a lot of practical advice on public speaking, which is definitely its strongest suit. The writing style is straightforward and easy to follow, making it a great resource for anyone looking to improve their oratory skills. However, I found some of the concepts to be a bit repetitive, which might make it feel a bit draggy at times. I think 'Kamasutra for the Orator' is worth checking out if you're serious about public speaking.

Hello everyone!
In today's review, part of my "My Bookshelf" series, I want to share with you my thoughts on the book "Kamasutra for the Orator" by Radislav Gandapass, which was given to me by a friend.
The title is quite provocative, so I was expecting something unusual from this book. To some extent, my expectations were met, but let's get into the details...
Enjoy reading the review!
? About the Author
Radislav Gandapass is Russia's most well-known specialist in leadership. He's the author of books and films on leadership, public speaking, and personal effectiveness. The most awarded business trainer in Russia, Radislav conducts at least 100 training sessions and seminars annually across Russia, the CIS, Central Asia, and the Baltic states. He's the only person in the country to have been recognized as the best in his field three times based on annual results. Radislav is a laureate of the Runet'2013 award for his book "The Charisma of a Leader," which was recognized as the best book of the year in the "Business Literature" category. He's a regular expert on federal TV channels and in leading business publications. His clients include MTS, Sberbank, Alfa-Bank, RZD, Sibur, Russian Aluminum, Norilsk Nickel, Russian representations of IBM, BP, and MTV, and the Olympic Committee of Sochi-2014.
? External Appearance
The cover design of this book is quite minimalist, just like most books from the MIF publishing house. I personally like this design, as it catches my eye in a bookstore.
? Quality // Paper
The quality of books from this publishing house rarely raises any questions for me. The binding is solid, and the paper is white.
? Interesting Quotes and Moments
As usual, let's take a look at my bookmarks and consider the moments that caught my attention.
▶ Reasons to Read the Book
We're greeted by an unusual message right on the cover. Isn't that intriguing?
▶ What Determines the Success of a Performance
I've gotta say, the old saying 'you can't judge a book by its cover' is spot on. How we present ourselves does play a huge role in how well we do in a public speaking situation.
But what really hit home with me is how the way we deliver our message can often have a bigger impact on the audience than the actual content itself. Having been both a speaker and an audience member at various public speaking events, I can attest to this.
▶ ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS
These are some super important questions that every speaker should ask themselves before getting up on stage.
I think experienced speakers often do this subconsciously, but for beginners, it's a really valuable piece of advice!
▶ IT'S ALL ABOUT 'YOU', 'ME'...
Personalizing your message like this somehow makes you more relatable to the audience, and it's a great way to win them over.
▶ OPENING LINES
I love how this section provides some solid ideas for opening lines, complete with examples from the author's own experience.
▶ GETTING THE AUDIENCE INVOLVED
It's no secret that when the audience is actively participating in the speaker's presentation, they become way more engaged and are more likely to remember the message. The author shares some great techniques for getting the audience involved.
? WHERE TO BUY
I've seen this book available at most bookstores, including 'Republic'.
