A Glimpse into the Elite's World: 'The Beneficiaries' Review

summarizeEditor's Summary

I dove headfirst into the world of 'House of Cards' by starting from season 1, and I'm glad I did. The show's complex characters and gripping storyline had me hooked from the very beginning. With its dark themes and intense plot twists, it's easy to get sucked into the world of politics and deception. The show's ability to balance character development with suspenseful storytelling is a major part of its charm. I found myself investing in the characters and their motivations, which made the show a true page-turner. I loved how the show tackled timely themes like power, corruption, and deception, making it a thought-provoking watch. The show's pacing is well-balanced, keeping viewers engaged from start to finish. Overall, I think 'House of Cards' is a must-watch for anyone who loves a good drama.

Hello there! I decided to start watching the hit TV series 'House of Cards' when season 4 was already underway. So, I had to start from the beginning, with the very first episodes. And let me tell you, I was hooked right away. I'd say you can easily binge-watch one season if you've got the time. It's clear that the show features a lot of explicit content, but to see the characters being so reckless and undervaluing themselves... it's like they're willing to sell out for a quick buck.
The lives of all the characters become so intertwined that it's hard to keep track of who's sleeping with whom, and who's the official partner versus the secret lover. And then there are the murders to keep things interesting. If it weren't for the suspense, you could just watch it in the background. I mean, who hasn't seen a bare chest before? But 'House of Cards' takes it to a whole new level. It's like director Andrei Bogolyubov just couldn't get enough of that in his new relationship with Ksenia Sobchak. And it's not like he's still got feelings for his ex, Darya Moroz.
Let's face it, the plot is over-the-top and full of glamour and dramatics. It's all built on some pretty dodgy schemes that seem to be rife in Moscow. I mean, can you really just give your subordinate a flat in the center of the city if they've earned it honestly? And who's wearing rose-tinted glasses here, eh? This show is basically a guide on how not to live your life - not about money, but about your dignity and integrity.
Honestly, the lead actress Daria Moroz has never really been my cup of tea. And I just can't get my head around why she's got so much male attention - even the guy involved in the drugs business didn't hesitate to get involved with a police investigator like Lina Shirikova (played by Daria Moroz). But I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles when you're a creation of Bogomolov...
Daria Moroz (Elena Anatolyevna Shirokova) Daria Moroz dances in the TV series SostoyankiShe built herself up as a tiger and a devoted worker, but in reality, she's not that different from others.
I've got to say, her on-screen husband is a total pushover. It's a shame, especially when it comes to their kids. And the way they're portrayed in the show could be a real cause for concern.
What really got under my skin - and also kind of charmed me - was the main character Dasha Smirnova Sofya Ernst - the wife of the famous Constantine Ernst, director of Channel One. I was always puzzled by her gaze, why she's always so intensely staring. I thought maybe it was the lenses, but according to the plot, she also wore glasses. Or maybe instead of lenses. Her gaze looked creepy and off-putting. Sofya Ernst and Burunov On the other hand, unlike others, her voice actually charmed me. Some quirky uniqueness among the usual bohemian girls. If only Daria
It's weird how quickly Burunov became one of my favorite characters. I barely even resisted it.
Burunov is as awesome as always. I love him in every role. His reaction as a March cat when he heard the word ********* in the car from Daria had me laughing out loud - I haven't laughed at guys like that in a long time.)
Sergey Burunov (Igor Dmitrievich Dolgachev) SvatkiNaturally, he's got an official wife and a mistress or two. What gets me is this: how do they not fear sleeping with their boss's wife or daughter? Are they really that weak in one area that they can't find someone else? Or do they need to 'follow through' with their plan.
Marina Zudina (Lyudmila Petrovna Dolgacheva) SvatkiAnd what about the wives? And it's all normal for them. And it's all normal for the husbands that their wives are happy. As long as no one drives each other crazy, that's the main thing. And family is just, you know, for show in the local social magazine and to keep up appearances.
One guy from the cast that really stood out for me was Vladimir Mischukov, played by Gleb Olkhovsky - he's a businessman, and he did a great job of bringing that character to life. As for the female lead, I have to say I wasn't entirely sold on her chemistry with Vladimir. Olga Sutulova played the role of Lena, but to me, their love story just didn't feel believable. I've seen her in other shows, and she's usually great, but in this one, she came across as a bit too clingy. I'm not a fan of that type of woman - she's like a damp rag, always sticking to you. Anyway, back to the show.
What a shame that actress Maria Fomina disappeared from the screen too quickly. I liked her even from the series Container (which just finished its third season on Start). She's a great woman with her own opinion, without all the sappy speeches and with an interesting appearance. Her short duet in the series Roommates with actress Alexandra Rebenok is well-remembered.
Maria Fomina (Marina Levkoeva) and Alexandra Rebenok (Olga) in a duetI also think Alexandra Rebenok holds up well in the frame. It's interesting to watch her speak and move.
I've always been a fan of actress Sabina Ahmedova, and here she's in a supporting role as a singer. But her performance and the song itself really resonate with her character's inner turmoil. She's like devouring the main character with her eyes and trying to convey the significance of the song's lyrics through every vocal inflection.
Sabina Ahmedova (Karina Stern) as a singer in the TV series Containment Even though I don't condone the lifestyle of the main characters, I definitely wouldn't want to be involved with someone like Dasha's husband. He's a loser who lacks character, and that's led to some serious consequences. You can feel sorry for him, but a guy's gotta have some backbone. Otherwise, people will just walk all over him.
I've got to say, the actress Alexandra Revenco stole the show as Katya Matveeva. She was the one who seduced the teacher and then ratted him out. Talk about a convenient plot twist. And what's next? Are we just going to wait for her next whim? Or will this be a lesson for teachers everywhere?
I enjoyed watching 'Shestovanyki' (The Beneficiaries) directed by Konstantin Bogomolov. It's engaging and easy to follow, but I have to deduct points for the excessive intimate scenes. I mean, come on, how many times can you watch the same thing before it gets old?
Thanks for reading my review!
