Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers

This 1988 horror classic still sends chills down my spine. I'm talking jump scares, creepy atmosphere, and a villain that's as iconic as it is terrifying. If you're a fan of the genre, you won't want to miss Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
I'm stoked to see Michael Myers back in action after that brutal killing in the second part's cliffhanger. He's back to his old ways, taking out a few random victims to get back into the swing of things and heading back to his hometown. Instead of targeting his sister Laurie, he's now got his sights set on his niece Jamie, played by the talented Danielle Harris - who's still super young.
Meanwhile, the completely unhinged psychiatrist Dr. Loomis is hot on his heels, having also been presumed dead. But can the old doc save the girl - and others - from the unstoppable evil that is Michael Myers?
I'm glad to see Michael Myers back in the mix after being shockingly absent from the third installment, which was still a solid film but lacked the main man. This sequel is a worthy follow-up that's possibly one of the best in the franchise.
Let's face it, it can't hold a candle to the second part, and it's definitely not on the same level as the cult classic original. But for my money, it's the best of the bunch.
Michael Myers has evolved since the original Halloween. He's no longer this quiet, reserved killer. He still roams the area, still likes to keep an eye on everyone, but he's become more brutal and bloodthirsty.
He unleashes a bloody massacre while trying to get his niece. He blows up a gas station, destroys a whole police station, and takes out the power in the entire town – all just to catch a small girl and gut her. It's not entirely clear why he's become so bloodthirsty, since Jamie isn't exactly some sadistic Kevin McCallister.
But you have to admire Michael's persistence. He's a force to be reckoned with, and his determination is both terrifying and fascinating.
Donald Pleasence is back as Dr. Loomis, and he's still great in the role. Loomis is even more unhinged and obsessed, and just as stubborn as his escaped patient Michael Myers.
Michael is dead set on killing his niece Jamie, while Loomis is determined to find and kill Michael. So, it's a close call - who's more stubborn?
I have to say, making Jamie the final girl would be a bit weird, so the role of key final girl goes to Ellie Cornell as Rachel, Jamie's cousin. She's a lovely character.
And Jamie herself is played by Danielle Harris, who I really like, especially in horror movies where she's made a name for herself. Jamie's a crucial role in the whole franchise, and considering her young age, Danielle does a great job and doesn't irritate me at all.
Halloween 4 is a worthy continuation of the great franchise, and it's awesome to see Michael Myers back in the mix. The film has some seriously intense moments, and the cast delivers solid performances.
This is a must-see for fans of the series - it's a wild ride from start to finish.
