Don't Get Left in the Lurch: My Honest Review of Грузовичкоф

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently used Грузовичкоф for a move from one end of Moscow to the other, and I've got to say, it was a total game changer. Their same-day and 24/7 delivery options were a lifesaver, and their team of pros handled my stuff with care. But, as with any service, there were some hiccups along the way. Keep reading to find out what I loved and what I didn't.

Hello there!
I'm here to share my experience with the logistics service 'Грузовичкоф'.
The company's offer:
They offer same-day and 24/7 delivery of goods and cargo, as well as moving services for dachas, apartments, and offices, truck rentals with a driver, and more.
Their moving services include loading/unloading, lifting, lowering, assembling, and disassembling furniture and shelving.
They have a fleet of trucks with a capacity of up to 20 tons, including box trucks, refrigerated trucks, and tow trucks.
My experience:
My husband and I lived in a studio apartment, but after our little one arrived, we needed to expand and started planning our move. We had accumulated a lot of stuff over the years – not just clothes, but also large furniture and electronics.
Last time we moved from one end of Moscow to the other, we used a car and made two trips. This time, we decided to hire professionals to take care of the move.
I packed everything myself, so the task was to load/unload, transport, and lift everything up/down the stairs.
What needed to be moved:
-Personal items, mostly packed in large shopping bags;
-A super-thin TV that was a real worry to move;
-A 50x45x220 cm wardrobe made of LDFP, weighing 50 kg when assembled;
-A toddler's bed, assembled;
-A child's dresser made of LDFP, 60x100x47 cm, weighing 36 kg when assembled.
We had to travel 38 km, approximately 40 minutes from the loading point to the unloading point.
Ordering the service:
I downloaded the Gruzovichko app and started entering the addresses for point A and point B. I'd guess the type of vehicle, whether there were porters, the number of hours, and check the final cost.
Screenshot from the Gruzovichko appNext, I decided to call Gruzovichko's support team to get some advice on ordering.
The girl I spoke to was super helpful and seemed like she had a ton of experience. She recommended ordering the 2-hour service, which would include loading/unloading, transportation, and lifting/lowering to the floor. If we couldn't finish within the time frame, we'd have to pay the driver separately. The service includes up to 5 manual floor lifts. We had 2 and 3 floors.
Screenshot from the Gruzovichko appWhen placing the order, I asked a ton of questions about the items we'd be moving, their dimensions and weight. Could we park the truck right next to the entrance? Was there a freight elevator? She recommended wrapping our white wardrobe and dresser in stretch film and adding it to the order. For the TV, she suggested propping it up with cardboard on both sides and then wrapping it in stretch film.
For this amount of stuff, we chose a 1.5-ton, 4-meter-long, 2.2-meter-high cargo-passenger Gazelle.
Screenshot from the Gruzovichko app I added 2 porters to the order. We scheduled the day and time, and everything was finalized. The order appeared in my app under 'My Orders'.

Packing:
The truck arrived before the scheduled time, and they called to let us know that if we were ready earlier, they'd wait at the entrance to start. The bags were packed, but we had to wait for my husband to get home from work. When my husband arrived, we started our move.
First of all, I didn't know when the actual work would start, and that's when the time count would begin, for which we'd have to pay. We ordered a 2-hour move.
I was told in the app that the order would take 2 hours. To be honest, I had no idea how much time had passed or how much was left - maybe I just didn't get it.
The two delivery guys showed up, and they weren't wearing any protective gear, but they were super polite. They asked what we were moving and which bags had fragile items in them. They were super careful with my jars of pickles!
They took the bags outside, and my husband and I decided to save time by wrapping the white cabinet and white dresser in stretch wrap ourselves. We already had them all wrapped up, but we waited around for the guys to show up and help us. My husband ended up going out to load the stuff into our car, and then he went back to help them. They carried the heavy cabinet, dresser, and crib up without disassembling them, just like we wanted.
They left the super thin TV for last. They put cardboard on either side of it and wrapped it in stretch wrap. While they were wrapping it, we were discussing how we were going to get to point B. They asked if we wanted someone to accompany the cargo with us in the car. We decided to drive ourselves. When they found out, they started talking about how expensive the TV was and how it would be better if we took it with us. But since we have a little kid, there was no way to fit it in the car, and we wouldn't have been able to hold it with the kid in tow.
The guys seemed to go talk to the driver, and then they came back and asked us to turn on the TV to make sure it was working. After that, they took the TV into the car and held it on the handles the whole way to point B. Big thanks for that!
We finally arrived at the drop-off point and started unloading.
Payment:
I paid for the 2-hour order in the app before the drop-off. I just topped up my 'Personal Account' in the app for the order amount, and it automatically got deducted from my balance.
Screenshot from the 'Gruzovichko' appSince we arrived and it was already 3 hours, the driver told us we had to pay for an extra hour of his time. I made the payment over the phone. If they managed to unload everything within the hour, that was fine, but if not, we'd have to pay extra. Unloading:
My husband and I realized we couldn't just stand by and watch as the minutes ticked away, so we joined in on the unloading. We worked together to get everything unloaded and into the apartment quickly.
The guys, of course, carried the heavy cabinet, dresser, and crib up the 3 flights of stairs on their own. Thanks to them for that - we tipped them for their hard work.
Order completion:
So, to confirm that we'd managed to unload the stuff within the extra hour, the driver asked me to come down and clarify. He confirmed that everything was fine and we didn't need to pay extra for the extra hour. Then I asked where the movers were, and they were just heading down at that moment. The driver says, 'I thought you were coming down to give me a tip!' I wasn't expecting that twist, but I figured it was only fair to give him a tip, just like the movers. And, of course, the TV arrived safely.
Cost:
The total came out to be 11,230 RUB for the app order, plus 6,040 RUB for the extra hour, and 1,500 RUB in tips – that's 18,770 RUB for three hours with two movers and our help. Whether or not to leave a tip is, of course, up to each person.
Verdict:
I'm taking off a star for the deliberate slowness, which bumped up the bill. I guess it all depends on the person. Otherwise, I'm happy to have been able to get help and have it delivered. For a price, of course, but still.
Thanks for reading!
