Gorky Park Ice Rink: A Must-Visit Winter Destination
Hello everyone!
As the winter months roll in, there's plenty of fun to be had, especially for those who love staying active. But when the snow doesn't quite cooperate, you've got to get creative. That's where ice skating comes in – and Moscow's got plenty of options.
We're huge fans of the ice rink at Gorky Central Park, right on the Moscow River. The park itself is one of the prettiest spots in the city, whether you're strolling through in the winter or summer. The grounds are massive, with a pond and plenty of walking paths. And when it snows, they transform into a massive ice rink.
The rink itself has a really cool design, with different paths to choose from – perfect for skaters of all levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skater, you'll find something to enjoy at Gorky Park.
Ice Rink Hours:
Tuesday to Sunday: 10:00–15:00, 17:00–23:00Monday: HolidaysTechnical break: 15:00–17:00This season, the ice rink at Gorky Park is going to be bigger than ever, with 16,385 square meters of ice. They've also got a festive atmosphere planned, with twinkling lights and decorations throughout the park. And if you're feeling hungry, there are plenty of food options on site.
We're huge fans of this ice rink, and we love that it's conveniently located near the metro. Plus, the staff is always friendly and helpful. One thing to note is that the prices have gone up a bit this year – but it's still worth every penny.
The rink itself is really well-maintained, with smooth ice and plenty of space to skate. And if you're looking for a more relaxed experience, there are plenty of benches to sit and take in the views. We also appreciate the fact that they have a storage area for your skates, so you can keep them safe while you're eating or taking a break.
One of the things we like best about Gorky Park is the variety of activities they offer. In addition to the main ice rink, they've also got a smaller rink for kids, with fun activities and events every weekend. And if you're looking for a more competitive experience, they've got hockey rentals available.
The park is located at Moscow, Central Park of Culture and Rest named after M. Gorky, metro station Oktyabrskaya. We appreciate the fact that they've thought of everything, from heated benches to cozy cafes and restaurants. And if you're feeling chilly, there are even fire pits to warm up by.
That being said, we do have a few minor complaints. The ice quality can be a bit sketchy in the evenings, but it's perfect in the mornings. And while the prices have gone up, it's still worth visiting a few times this season. We've also noticed that the ice rink is a bit smaller than it was last year – but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
We highly recommend checking out the ice rink at Gorky Park. It's a fun and festive experience that's perfect for the whole family. And who knows – you might just discover a new favorite winter activity.
Thanks for reading!
