I've got four furry friends at home, and let me tell you, they're like family to me. We've grown accustomed to each other, and I'm pretty sure they've grown to love us too. It's no secret that they're exposed to all sorts of germs and parasites when they're out and about, so I make it a point to give them regular deworming treatments every three months.
I just pick whatever medication the pet store recommends, as long as it's affordable. Recently, I bought a liquid suspension and some tablets to double down on the parasite-killing action. I decided to start with the suspension, and that's what today's review is all about.

The product comes in a cardboard box with all the essential information printed on it. The expiration date is three years from the date of manufacture, as long as the product is stored at a temperature between 0 and 25 degrees Celsius.

The package comes with a vial of medicine and a syringe for administering it. There was also a sticker for the animal's passport, but since my cats are unregistered, they didn't need it.
The suspension is stored in a small dark glass vial, which is convenient for long-term storage. The vial contains 5 ml of medicine, which is enough for two doses if you have one cat.Under the screw-top lid, there's a pesky plug that I hate dealing with. Sometimes I manage to grab the plug with the screw thread from the lid, but not this time - I had to use scissors to dig it out.
Dosage and administration
When it comes to the dosage, you're supposed to give 1 milliliter per 2 kilograms of your cat's weight. I have four little furballs, and I figured one bottle would be enough, since they probably weigh no more than 10 kilograms in total.
To use this stuff, you need to give it to them orally, either mixed with a small amount of their regular food or squirted directly onto the back of their tongue using a dosing syringe. The recommended dose is 1 milliliter per 2 kilograms of body weight.
For treatment, you should only use this product when necessary. If your cat has a severe infestation, you might need to repeat the treatment in 10 to 14 days.
For prevention, you can give it to them once every three months in the therapeutic dose, or before each vaccination, 10 to 14 days in advance.
My Cats' ReactionI gave the gel-like substance to my cats as directed, first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. The suspension has a murky yellow color and a strong, iodine-like smell.
Gel-like Substance for Cats, ReviewInitially, I thought my cats would be clueless to the whole thing, so I decided to mix the medication with their favorite liver sausage. They always devour that stuff, so I figured it would be a win-win. But, as it turns out, my cats are not as dumb as I thought. Well, one of them, at least, managed to sniff out the trick. He ate the sausage with the medication in it without batting an eye. I tried to give it to the other cats, but they weren't having it. Maybe it was the smell of the medicine that put them off. I had to force-feed it to them, a little at a time, just on the tip of their tongues. They were resistant, trying to spit it out, but I managed to get some of it into two of them. The older cat was the toughest to deal with. She wouldn't let me touch her, and she scratched me pretty good. After that, she refused to let me handle her. I ended up pouring the rest of the medicine into a bowl of dry food, and one of the cats ate it later.
As for the taste, I'm not really sure - but I guess it's tolerable, since one of the cats actually ate it. Maybe the others just didn't like being forced to take it. Effect and my impressions
It's hard to say if the medicine actually worked, since the cats are using the litter box and going outside too. I didn't see any worms or anything like that in the litter box. Their behavior is normal, and they haven't had any vomiting or changes in appetite.
I didn't see any side effects, but that's probably because my cats are pretty easy-going and not too spoiled.
I'm hoping that the medicine at least helped a little, even if it's just for preventative measures. But I'm still planning to give them tablets in a few weeks, and then I'll take a break from them until the spring sunshine comes back.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend buying this product again - it was a real hassle to use, and I ended up with scratched hands. I'm not even sure if it worked, since the cats managed to spit out some of the medicine. After the tablets, I'm thinking of trying those drops on the back of their necks - maybe they'll be easier to use. I'll have to read some reviews first, though.
