Gazprom Bonus

This Gazprom Bonus thing is actually pretty cool. It helps you save some cash on your gas bills, and it's got some sweet perks like discounts on gas purchases and rewards for being a loyal customer. That means you can enjoy more value for your money and get the most out of your gas usage.

Gazprom Bonus Subscription: Worth the Hype?

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently signed up for Gazprom Bonus, a subscription service offered by Gazprom Bank. The first month is free, but it costs 300 rubles a month after that. As a regular user of debit cards, I was curious to see if it would help me save more in the long run. With its cashback rewards and extra benefits, Gazprom Bonus seems like a great option for those who want to get the most out of their debit card. However, I'll also discuss some potential drawbacks and what you can expect from the service. Whether or not Gazprom Bonus is worth the hype depends on your individual needs and spending habits. I used it for a month and here's my honest take on whether it's worth the cost.

I recently got my Gazprom bank debit card, and a bank representative suggested I sign up for Gazprom Bonus subscription. The first month is free, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
As of now, Gazprom Bonus subscription costs 300 rubles a month. I'm not opposed to spending the money if it helps me save more in the long run, like I did with Alfa Smart subscription from Alfa bank. You can find my review about that at the end of this post.
Gazprom bank is really pushing this subscription. I see ads for Gazprom Bonus on every page of their app, touting the potential benefits.
Take the cashback page, for example. With Gazprom Bonus, you get a higher maximum cashback amount and an extra 5% cashback, compared to 3%.
They're also offering higher interest rates on their deposit accounts and savings accounts if you have Gazprom Bonus.
Setting up a subscription is a breeze. Just tap on your card icon, then search for 'Gazprom Bonus' and click 'connect'. They give you a free month to try it out, which I used up back in May, so now I'm being asked to pay for a subscription. But before you decide whether to commit to a subscription, you can check out the perks by clicking 'learn more'. Alongside extra cashback percentages and deposit rewards, there are other goodies.
Some of the details are listed on the screenshot above, but to be honest, none of it really caught my attention. I don't translate over 100,000 rubles a month, so I don't need the 150,000 ruble limit. And why would I use card transfers of 30,000 rubles when I have SPB transfers? As for miles, I don't use those either. So, it all went by me.
I took a closer look at what the Gazprom Bonus subscription has to offer in partnership with other services. You've got Dodo, Lenta, Premier and Vink cinemas, and Invitro all on board.
Free Premier and Vink cinemas - watch movies without paying a dime. I even tried to take advantage of this, but I guess there just weren't any interesting new releases in May, or maybe I'm just picky, but I ended up not watching anything.
Gazprom Bonus subscription on Ozon Premium for free. Head over to Ozon and activate your Gazprom subscription. Normally, Ozon Premium costs 200 rubles a month. This subscription gives you free courier delivery, a longer return period, and free or super-cheap goods. I'm not a fan of letting couriers into my home, I rarely return items, and only if they're faulty - which is understandable, given the 60-day return period. And as for the cheap goods, Ozon usually promotes them anyway, but they're not really my thing.
Dodo promises 2 free pizzas every month, but only if you order for 1300 rubles. I'm not sure if that means two separate orders of 1300 rubles each or one order with two free pizzas tacked on. Either way, I don't often order pizzas from Dodo, and definitely not for 1300 rubles.
Lenta offers 13% and 15% discounts on purchases in-store or online. Unfortunately, the Lenta store is a bit too far from me, so I don't shop there.
The Package subscription (which includes Perekrestok and Pyaterochka stores) offers 3 free deliveries a month, plus increased cashback on certain product categories. The thing is, if you connect the Package service directly, you'll get all those same perks, plus more related to other services: bookstores, kiosks, Invitro, and online cinemas.
Invitro just gives you a 25% discount on tests. Unfortunately, there's no info on whether there's a minimum amount you need to spend, or if this is a one-time deal or a permanent discount.
What really caught my attention was that I needed to get a blood test in May, and I was interested in Invitro because of the discount. But even with a 25% discount, the prices were still way too high.
And, of course, Gazprom's main product is oil. They're offering small discounts or rather bonuses on that, but it's unclear how they'll be calculated. I don't have a car, so I don't use gas stations. On top of that, you can add other services for an extra fee. To do that, you need to add the right offers to your cart. There are a lot of options, and a ton of extra conditions you need to meet to get any real benefit.
My Takeaways
At first glance, the Gazprom Bonus subscription seems like a great deal – you get access to a lot of things (cafes, stores, book and movie services, clinics). But what's the real value? In my opinion, it's only worth it for people who frequently shop at Lenta and watch a lot of movies on online streaming platforms, and also already use (or want to start using) Ozon Premium and the "package" service.
For everyone else, most services come with a fee, and there's only a small discount. Often, there are minimum spending requirements (which are pretty high), and you only get a discount if you meet those requirements. So, if you don't spend enough, you won't get any real benefits. The additional offers (which cost over 300 rubles per month) are super unclear: it's not at all obvious how the discount will be calculated or what the real benefits are.
I'm not exactly a regular on the Gazprom Bonus feed, to be honest. It's just too far from where I live, and I don't really see the point in online cinemas – all the movies are available for free anyway. I barely use Ozon, and I don't order pizza from Dodo or fill up at their gas stations. I'm basically a cheapskate. To be frank, there just wasn't much of a reason for me to take advantage of the subscription offers.
So, the benefits of subscribing to Gazprom Bonus are pretty hypothetical. If you're one of those people who uses all the services I mentioned, actively pays with your Gazprom card to get cashback, and keeps your money on deposit accounts, then the subscription might pay off.
