Hello everyone!
I've been using Erborian's tonal products for a while now, and I've even bought their Advent product to try out more of their offerings.
However, the product I'm reviewing today was a happy accident: during a facial treatment, a makeup artist left a huge bruise on my face that refused to fade after two weeks.
So, I decided to 'cancel out' the yellowish tint with a purple pigment and headed to L'Etoile to grab something quickly.
After browsing the shelves, I couldn't find anything more purple, so I ended up buying this product at the checkout.
About the product:
Erborian is a Korean brand that produces all its products in South Korea. The product comes in two sizes, and I have the 15ml travel format.
CC Cream Erborian CC Dull Correct ReviewsThe price is quite steep - I paid over 1140 rubles for 15ml, and I even used some accumulated loyalty points. Now, the price in the same store is 2150 rubles for the same size and 4790 rubles for 45ml.
Appearance and packaging of this product give away the presence of purple pigment in its composition - it looks noticeably purple.
Cc dull correct Erborian reviewsThe packaging is beautiful with a pearlescent finish, and it has all the necessary information about the manufacturer and product, including the ingredients. However, it's quite hard to read due to the reflective surface.
Packaging infoThe cream itself comes in a standard plastic tube, matching the brand's color scheme.
Erborian purple packagingThe back of the tube has some info duplicated.
Erborian tubeThere's a batch code on the seam of the tube.
Batch codeThe cream is dosed from a narrow nozzle, which is pretty convenient, even if some of the product might stick to it.
NozzleThere's a Russian sticker with the product info.
Product info in RussianVisually the cream is a light lavender color with a purple tint, which looks pretty unnatural to me.
Erborian reviewsThe product has a faint cosmetic scent.
Ingredients aren't usually something I worry about, but the info is printed on the box:

About the manufacturer's description:
This CC Dull cream is a multi-functional formula that instantly fights dull skin, restoring its glow.
The purple pigment conceals imperfections and uneven tone, evening out the skin and giving it a radiant look from within. It's perfect for tired, dull, or yellow-toned skin. The formula adapts to any skin tone, instantly transforming it. Centella asiatica in the cream gently smoothes and deeply moisturizes the skin.
The cream contains licorice extract, which removes dark spots and fights free radicals – the cause of dullness and aging skin.
To protect the skin from aggressive sun damage, SPF filters have been added to the cream.
My skin's in a decent state right now, but I do have some issues in the T-zone - it's prone to excessive sebum production, and my cheeks get normal in the summer and dry in the winter. I also have some faint freckles and naturally pale skin.
I'm always trying out and buying new BB and CC creams, and I have a decent collection going on.
I was totally hooked on this productThis is just a small part of the Korean skincare products out there.
But, as I said, I was originally looking to cover up a big bruise, and that's why I bought this CC cream.
I applied it with my finger, and I ended up with a huge dark brown stain - not what I was going for! I realized that the CC cream darkens a lot when you spread it around, and I thought it wasn't for my skin type.
I was thoroughly disappointed with my purchase and didn't touch it for about 2-3 weeks.
Then, I had an event to go to and I decided to give it another shot, applying it with a damp beauty blender - which is how I usually apply it. To my surprise, I saw a light, slightly purple sheen on my skin, and I really liked it. At that point, I realized that the way I apply the CC cream makes a difference - when I apply it with my finger and spread it around, the internal microcapsules break open and the cream turns dark, but when I apply it with a damp beauty blender, it stays light and shimmery.
Erborian CC cream - how to apply itHere's how it looks on my skin: the top is just smeared on with my finger, and the bottom is applied with a damp beauty blender.
It's the same product, just applied differentlyI was blown away when I first used the yellow concealer - it turned my dark circles into a brownish patch.
Now I'm absolutely hooked on this product and use it almost daily. I love how it makes my skin look - a subtle glow and a nice blurring effect.
My skin before and after ErborianI'm really loving the effect of this concealer and how it looks on my skin - it's just so natural-looking.
My skin before and after applying ErborianTo avoid looking too pale or washed out, I like to set the concealer with a subtle powder. I've been using the Hourglass powder in Dim, and it's been a game-changer - it adds just the right amount of coverage without looking cakey.
Left: just concealer, right: with makeupI always use a gentle oil-based cleanser to remove my makeup, and this concealer is no exception. In fact, I'd recommend being gentle when removing Korean BB creams - a clean face is always a beautiful face.
I've gotta say, this product is a real budget-friendly option. I've been using it for about a month now, almost every single day except for weekends, and I'm still not even close to running out – I've got about a third of the 15ml left in the tube.
So, let's get down to the nitty-gritty, I've got to give this product some serious kudos:
It gives my skin this amazing glow. And the best part? It works just as well for fair skin as it does for darker skin tones. Now, the not-so-good stuff:
The price is a bit steep.I've gotta say, I'm absolutely loving this product – I'm a huge fan of that radiant glow, and this one delivers big time. It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you figure it out, it's a solid 5-star product for me. I'd definitely recommend it.
Wishing you all peace, happiness, and great skin care – but let's be real, that's secondary to this product's awesomeness!
