My Disappointing Experience with Econta Baking Paper

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've had Econta baking paper collecting dust in my pantry for years, and it's just not living up to my expectations. The 8-meter roll is a decent size, but it can't compete with the high-quality parchment paper I've come to love. The packaging is a standard box with special notches, but it's a real pain to open and leaves the box in a weird shape. It's not terrible for storage, but that's about it.

I picked up Econta baking paper a few years ago, expecting a great deal, but it's been collecting dust ever since. The 8-meter roll just hasn't lived up to my expectations, mainly because it's not as good as the high-quality, silicone-coated parchment paper I've come to love, like Lomberta.
Econta Baking PaperThe packaging is a standard box with special notches for removing the cardboard strip. Honestly, it's a bit of a hassle to open it this way, as it leaves the box awkwardly shaped for storing the paper. I just pull the roll out through the side flap.
Econta Baking PaperThe packaging shows various uses for the paper, including baking, reheating, wrapping, and portioning. I've only been using it for wrapping and portioning so far.
Econta Baking PaperOne feature that actually works well for Econta baking paper is its width - 38 cm is perfect for large baking sheets. The color is a standard white, and there's no weird smell coming from it.
Econta Baking PaperWhen I first bought Econta baking paper, I was excited about its low price. Unfortunately, it failed miserably during my first use - a batch of cherry-filled slabs. The dough stuck to the paper, and I had to wrestle it off. The paper started tearing and crumbling apart. I never used it for baking again, but I did find alternative uses for it.
Using Econta Baking PaperI've been using Econta baking paper for wrapping meat in a packet when I bake it, and it's worked okay. I've also used it to wrap sandwiches and portion out meatballs for freezing.
Wrapping ImbirtorteRecently, my son wanted to surprise his cousin with some Imbirtorte, and I used Econta baking paper to wrap it up.
Wrapping ImbirtorteMy verdict? Don't use Econta baking paper for baking. It's only good for storing and wrapping food. If you're in the market for a decent baking paper, I'd suggest checking out the silicone-coated parchment paper from Grifon for your round cake pans, or the Big City Life paper for your loaf pans and chicken dishes. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
For a great charlotte cake, I'd recommend using the Grifon silicone-coated parchment paper. And for your slabs and chicken dishes, Big City Life paper is a solid choice.
Thanks for reading!
