Dune Buggy Adventure in Sharm El Sheikh - A Mixed Bag

summarizeEditor's Summary

While the dune buggy adventure in Sharm El Sheikh had its moments, it ultimately fell short of expectations. The guides were friendly, but the tour itself was a bit of a letdown. If you're looking for a unique experience, it's worth a shot, but don't expect too much.

I recently went on a dune buggy adventure in Sharm El Sheikh, and I gotta say, it was an experience. The scenery was breathtaking - endless sand dunes stretching as far as the eye could see. But, let's get to the good stuff.
First off, the guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. They showed us the ropes and made sure we were safe the whole time. The dune buggies themselves were pretty cool too - they're basically off-road vehicles designed for sand, so they handled like a dream.
Now, here's the deal. The tour itself was a bit of a letdown. We spent way too much time driving around in circles, and not enough time actually exploring the dunes. I mean, I get it, safety first and all that, but it felt like we were stuck in a rut (no pun intended).
Another thing that bugged me was the lack of amenities. I mean, come on, it's a desert adventure - you'd think they'd have some decent snacks and drinks available. But nope, we were stuck with stale water and stale sandwiches. Not exactly the most appetizing combo.
Despite all that, I'd still recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique experience. Just don't expect it to be the most thrilling ride ever.

live_helpFeatured FAQ

About 3-4 hours, depending on the group size and the guides' discretion.

What kind of terrain can I expect?

Sand dunes, of course! But also some rocky terrain and maybe even some sandstorms.

Are the dune buggies safe?

Yeah, they're designed for off-road driving and have roll cages and all that jazz.

Can I bring my own snacks?

Uh, no. You'll be stuck with what they provide, which is...not great.

Do I need to bring any special gear?

Just sunscreen, a hat, and some comfy shoes. Oh, and a sense of adventure!
