A Concealer That Falls Short of Expectations

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently picked up this concealer from Divage, expecting a solid product given their affordable prices and decent quality cosmetics. Unfortunately, this one didn't quite hit the mark. The formula feels lightweight and creamy, but the coverage is pretty mediocre. It doesn't do much to conceal my dark circles or blemishes like I'd like. I've tried other concealers in this price range that deliver way better results. For now, I'd say this one's a total letdown. I'm a bit disappointed, especially considering the packaging is sleek and modern, with a nice gradient effect that makes it easy to track the product level. The concealer has a lovely, natural finish that doesn't look cakey or heavy on my skin, which is a plus. However, the formula can be a bit too sheer for my taste, especially when I'm trying to cover up more extensive blemishes. Overall, I'd say this concealer falls short in terms of coverage and longevity.

I recently decided to upgrade my concealer game and picked up this one from RivGosh. It's a super budget-friendly option from the Divage brand, and it cost me around 300 rubles. I've tried plenty of affordable concealers that deliver amazing results, so I thought this one would be just as good, given my fondness for Divage cosmetics.
What the manufacturer claims:
This concealer promises to be a lightweight, creamy formula with medium coverage and a matte finish. It's supposed to effectively cover imperfections, brighten, and conceal signs of fatigue, pigmentation spots, and redness, while evening out the skin's surface. It's easy to apply and blend, and the long-lasting formula is comfortable to wear, doesn't smudge, and doesn't get stuck in fine lines.
Format and packaging:
The packaging is matte and feels nice to the touch, with a gradient effect that makes it easy to track the product level. The applicator is a flat paddle shape, similar to what you'd find on other cosmetics, and the product dispenser gives you just the right amount to cover all your problem areas on your face. The paddle applicator is soft and not too fluffy, making it comfortable to use.
The packaging came with a small sticker with some info on it, which also served as a seal to protect the product from the first opening.
My skin and product requirements:
I need a concealer that covers post-acne marks, first and foremost! I'm not a fan of super dense textures because I hate the cakey effect and when everything just gets sucked into my pores! And often, super dense matte concealers are exactly that. So, I prefer a concealer with medium coverage but no cakey effect. I have pretty fair skin, and most concealers oxidize on my face, so I immediately choose a shade that's almost as light as the lightest one in the range. And sometimes, I need a concealer to cover dark circles and blue undertones under my eyes.
My impressions:
This concealer is good, but it all depends on what you're looking for in a product. It won't cover up severe dark circles or big post-acne marks - that's not what it's for! But it'll smooth out your skin tone, reduce some of the blue undertones, and cover up minor blemishes. I loved that the concealer doesn't sink into my pores! Even when I apply it thickly, it looks super natural on my skin. And I didn't even notice it oxidizing at all. The shade is perfect for my fair skin. As for longevity, it's just okay - it lasts a couple of hours, then I need to touch it up. I don't get acne, so I can't comment on that, but it works great for oily skin!
I've got fine lines under my eyes, and this concealer doesn't accentuate them at all. It's really good at blending in with my skin.
Doesn't sink into poresDoesn't accentuate fine linesLooks super naturalNon-oxidizingHas a really nice, universal shadeHas average wear time
Verdict:
I liked it, but I wouldn't buy it again. It's a solid concealer, but it's not one I'd go back to. It's just a normal concealer without any major flaws. I'd recommend it, though.
