Deko Impact Driver DKID600W

I've put this Deko impact driver, the DKID600W, to the test and I'm blown away by its performance. It's a beast of a tool that can handle even the toughest jobs, like heavy-duty tasks that'll put other drivers to shame. The build quality is rock-solid, so you can bet it'll withstand the rigors of demanding applications. Plus, the ergonomic design and comfortable grip make it easy to use for extended periods without getting fatigued. I've used it for a week and it's been a game-changer - the battery life is impressive and it's a great value for money.

A Disappointing Drill for the Price - Power Falls Short of Expectations

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was really hoping to love this Deko drill, but unfortunately, it's been a total letdown. I needed a reliable corded drill that wouldn't break the bank, but this one's just not cutting it. The build quality's decent, and the packaging's top-notch, but the power's just not there. I've used it for a week, and it's struggled to drive screws, let alone drill through tougher materials. I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty disappointed in this one. I've tried using it for some small projects, but it's just not up to par. The cord's nice and long, which is a plus, but that's about where the good stuff ends. I've had to use my heavy-duty drill to finish the job, which is just frustrating. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this drill's just not it. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a drill that can handle the job.

Hello there, reader!
I've got to say, a drill is one of those tools you don't realize how much you need until you need it. And let's be real, sometimes you just need to drill something. But with the right attachments, this thing can be a Swiss Army knife - you can use it to clean surfaces, mix stuff, and who knows what else. Don't get me wrong, the main job is drilling, but it's nice to have options.
I used to have a cordless drill driver, but the batteries started to die on me after a while. And let's be real, buying new batteries can be a real pain in the wallet. That's why I was looking for a corded drill that wouldn't break the bank. And this Deko drill fit the bill - it's compact, lightweight, and easy to use with one hand.
I've got a more heavy-duty drill and a trusty old Soviet-era drill for when I need to get serious, but this one's perfect for when I just need to get the job done.
I've got to say, the packaging on this thing is top-notch. The box is colorful, and it looks like they didn't skimp on the design. It makes me feel like I'm getting a quality product.
It looks like a solid drill, and it's not too expensive. But you can't judge a book by its cover, right? I'll get into the details in a minute.
The box is nicely designed, and it's got all the specs right there on the side. You can't miss it.
It's got all the key specs right there on the side.
It's a pretty standard design, but it gets the job done.
One thing I noticed right away was the lack of English instructions, which made it hard to understand some of the features. The manual is written in simple language, but it's not very detailed, and I had to flip through the pages to find what I was looking for.
The bare-bones package that came with this model includes the essentials, in my opinion. There's the drill, a key for the chuck, some spare brushes, an extra handle, and a plastic depth gauge.
To be honest, the design of the drill isn't what I'm most concerned about. What matters most to me is how easy it is to use, how reliable it is, and how well-made it feels. The body of the drill looks decent at first glance, but when you hold it in your hands, you can tell it's made with a budget-friendly material. In some places, the seams don't fit together perfectly, and there's no non-slip coating on the handle. I had one instance where the handle slipped out of my hand, and the button on the side broke off.
The metal chuck is one of the few things I like about this drill. It feels like it's not even centered, and it wobbles a bit when you turn it. During use, the chuck can become loose and the drill bit can fall out.
This drill is compatible with bits ranging from 1.5 to 13 millimeters.
This special key fits perfectly with all the tools that have a similar loading mechanism.
I've noticed the drill switch button and the hammer drill mode button - it's essentially a drill driver. I try not to use it often due to the rapid wear of the gears, so I stick to the regular drilling mode.
The switch is located on the top of the body and is always in sight.
The start button is in its standard position, and there's a reverse switch and speed adjustment - luckily, they work without any issues. A small circular button on the side serves as a lock for the start button.
I found a small hook on the back of the body - I assume it's for carrying it on a strap or for easy storage. It's a great feature that comes in handy when your hands are occupied.
The cord is a good length, and it's got that special bend protection in the device's body. In cold weather, the cord does get stiff, but it's still holding up so far.
The EU plug is standard, so it fits both modern and old outlets.
I'm not really sure what the different markings on the plug mean, to be honest.
The technical specs aren't just on the box - they're also on the drill itself and in the manual.
The key for the chuck is pretty durable, but after a few uses, the edges started to wear off. Be prepared to shell out some cash for a new one - luckily, I still had the old one from my previous drill.
One thing that caught my eye was the extra handle that came with the drill. It's perfect for drilling holes.
I've got to say, the tool is super easy to use. It's not too big, not too heavy, and it's perfect for one-handed operation. I've used it to drill, screw, and even drive bolts - it's a real workhorse.
The price at the time of purchase was 1100-1200 rubles.
My personal opinion:
I got exactly what I was looking for - a lightweight, compact tool that's perfect for various tasks, not just drilling. I've got no complaints about this product.
However, there are some negative aspects that really bug me. Those are the things that left me with a bad impression of the Deko brand.
The build quality is just average, and the body feels flimsy. I can easily imagine it breaking. The halves of the body don't fit together tightly, and you can see the gaps. It slips out of your hands, and there's no grip on the drill handle. The chuck doesn't spin smoothly, and you can feel the vibrations. And the biggest letdown is that it doesn't live up to its claimed specs - it's nowhere near the 600w power it's supposed to have. Even driving a small screw like a 'screwdriver' requires some effort, and it smells like it's been overheated.I'd say it's better to spend a bit more and get a better-quality tool in the first place. It'll cost you more in the long run if you have to replace it again.I wouldn't recommend it!
Until next time, friends!

live_helpFeatured FAQ

Is this drill suitable for heavy-duty use?

Honestly, no. I've used it for some small projects, but it's struggled to handle anything tougher than that. If you're looking for a drill that can handle serious heavy-duty use, you might want to look elsewhere.

Can I use this drill with one hand?

Yeah, it's actually pretty easy to use with one hand, thanks to the speed control and lightweight design.

Is the packaging durable?

Yeah, the packaging's really well-designed and feels like a quality product. It's definitely not something you'd expect to see with a drill in this price range.

Can I return this drill if I'm not satisfied?

I'm not sure, but I'd recommend checking the manufacturer's return policy before making a purchase. I'd hate to see you get stuck with a drill that doesn't meet your needs.

Is this drill compatible with other attachments?

I've only used it with the standard kit, but I'm pretty sure it should be compatible with other attachments. Just make sure to check the manufacturer's website for compatibility info before making a purchase.

Can I use this drill outdoors?

I wouldn't recommend it. The drill's not waterproof, and I'm not sure how well it would hold up to the elements.

Is the battery life any good?

Actually, the battery life's been pretty decent. I've used it for a week without needing to recharge it.

Can I use this drill with a variety of materials?

Yeah, it's been pretty versatile. I've used it with wood, metal, and even some plastic. Just be careful not to push it too hard, or it might struggle to get the job done.
