Api San Ultra Flea and Tick Collar for Cats

I've tried a few flea collars on my cat, but this Api San Ultra one has been a total game-changer. It's super easy to use - just slip it on your cat's neck, and you're good to go. The advanced formula not only repels and kills fleas and ticks but also prevents re-infestation, so you don't have to worry about those pesky little critters coming back. I've been using it for a while now, and I'm seriously impressed with the value for money. The build quality is solid, and it's a breeze to put on and take off. If you're looking for a reliable flea collar that's gentle on your cat's skin, I highly recommend giving Api San Ultra a try.

I'm Impressed with the Dana Ultra Collar - No Smell, Easy to Use, and Effective Against Fleas

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently adopted a stray cat with a rough past, and I was determined to get rid of those pesky fleas. After trying a few different methods, I stumbled upon the Dana Ultra Collar, and I gotta say, it's been a total game changer. Not only is it easy to use, but it's also super effective against those nasty little critters. Plus, it's odorless, which is a major plus in my book. I've been using it for a while now, and I can confidently say it's worth every penny. I've even noticed a significant improvement in my cat's overall health and happiness. The build quality is top-notch, and the battery life is surprisingly long-lasting. I'm impressed, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone dealing with flea issues.

I recently adopted a stray cat without a paw, and I've already shared my experience with flea treatment in a previous post here.
How to feed a stray cat a pill without getting your finger bitten offI'll share my experience with getting rid of fleas in this review.

Of course, stray animals need to be washed, and I washed the cat in the bathtub using a flea shampoo called Lugovoy.
However, I couldn't manage to hold and wash the stray cat properly - it was only 3.5 kg, had no one paw, but it was screaming as if it was being tortured, and it was jumping around in the bathtub like a kangaroo on three legs, trying to jump out. To avoid both of us getting hurt, I quickly rinsed off the shampoo (the shampoo needed to be left on for a bit to work on the fleas), wrapped the cat in a towel, and went to calm it down.
Since there was another cat in the house, I isolated the new one in another room (just closed the door) and bought flea collars for both cats.
I was choosing between the ABZ and DANA collars.
ABZ was a product I'd bought before, but the prices for pet products have become unreasonable lately, so I opted for the cheaper DANA instead.
xa0
Price I bought it in November last year. The DANA collar cost 390 rubles, and I bought two of them - one for the new cat and one for my old cat, Bars. The ABZ collar was around 500 rubles, so I saved a bit.
I bought it at the Vetna store in Ufa.
xa0
Packaging and appearanceI carefully considered the product before buying, and the seller showed me several collar color options. Unlike ABZ, DANA offers different colors.
I chose the brown and green ones, and I almost went for red, but something held me back. Brown and green are more natural colors that blend in with the surroundings, and you won't see them on animals in the wild.

In the apartment, the meaning of natural colors gets lost, and you can buy bright colors like blue, red, and others.

I really liked the packaging design, with a beautiful picture of DANA the cat hiding in the grass, hunting.
On the back, you can read information about the insecticidal collar, including the composition, usage instructions, and manufacturer.
Manufacturer: "Apicenna", Russia, Balashikha.
On the instructions, it's mentioned that the developer is "API-SAN".
xa0
Dana ultra collar insecticidal instructionsxa0
The collar is designed to eliminate parasites on your pet's fur, including fleas, ticks, and mites.
There's no mention of worm treatment, which some users have mentioned in their reviews. Maybe the composition has changed, or perhaps the packaging design has been updated, along with the manufacturer. Still, the developer remains the same – API-SAN.

Dana Ultra Collar for CatsI got two collars in different colors: brown and lime. The brown one blends more into the gray color.

I really liked the appearance and colors of the collars.
The collar length is 35 cm.
xa0
Application, impression of useI was surprised by the complete lack of smell when I opened the individual package, the Dana ABZ collar had a smell that lasted for a few more days, then it dissipated. But there's no smell here, like the collar hasn't been treated at all, of course, the thought crossed my mind: "Will it even work?".
As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, I was unable to properly treat Rysia with the flea shampoo, I had to quickly rinse it off because the cat was meowing and running around the bathtub, could have gotten hurt. So the shampoo didn't work as intended, the cat continued to scratch itself.
I didn't visually spot any insects, but the collar is gray, it's hard to spot parasites.
I bought Dana collars for both cats, for Bars - as a preventative measure, for Rysia - for treatment (to eliminate insects parasitizing on the animal's fur and skin).
I put the "Lime" colored collar on Bars.
He weighs 7.5 kg, has a thick neck.

Dana Ultra Insecticidal Collar Reviewsxa0
One thing that really stood out to me was the bright, eye-catching color of this collar - just check out my furry little star posing for the camera!
Putting it on was a breeze, and my pets didn't put up a fight. The only trick is to tighten it just right - not too snug, or it could be uncomfortable for them, but not too loose, or it might get caught on something and come off. I usually use my index finger to leave a bit of slack under the neck, then use the other hand to tighten the buckle.
I also trimmed off any excess ends to keep them from flapping around.

My brown Dana collar ended up on my grey Rys, who weighs 3.5 kg.

As it faded into my cat's grey coat, I was impressed by how well it blended in.
After a while, I noticed my cat had stopped scratching and biting himself - I guess the insecticidal properties of this collar really did the trick!
The collar is good for up to three months, which is the recommended lifespan of this treatment.
Now my little Rys is looking healthier than ever, with a plump face and cheeks that look almost like a hamster's - and I've been checking to make sure the collar isn't bothering him, but so far, so good.

After two months, I removed the collar from both my pets.
xa0
The VerdictThis collar is a great value for the price - it's cheaper than some of the big-name brands out there.
There are plenty of color options to choose from.
It's completely odorless.
It's easy to put on, and it's designed to last for three months.
It's got a shelf life of two years.
Best of all, it really does seem to work - my cat stopped scratching and biting himself, and the fleas didn't migrate to my other pet. Overall, I'd highly recommend the Dana collar for both prevention and treatment.
I was a bit surprised by the lack of scent, since the ABZ brand collars had a distinct smell.
I'd still recommend this product. While I've only tested it on indoor pets, I'm not sure if it would work for cats in outdoor environments.
