My partner and I recently had the chance to check out a new spot in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and we're super excited to share our experience with you.
We went to the premiere of the highly-anticipated film "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", and after that, we decided to explore an interesting spot right next to the cinema.
The place with the intriguing name: Dad's Mate

This isn't just a restaurant - it's a cafe-bar and bistro all rolled into one.
Kitchen: Georgian
We'd never been here before, so we thought we'd give it a try and explore this new spot.
The interior is certainly unique. I mean, it's a loft!

The menu was pretty straightforward, but I'm sure everyone can find something they like.
Now, let's talk about what we ordered.
I wasn't starving, so I just got the creamy fish soup.
I haven't had it in ages, and it was calling my name!

One thing that really bugged me, though, was the utensils.
They were super cheap, flimsy, and even the spoon was uncomfortable to hold …
My husband ordered the Fish Soup HARCHO.
I tried a bit of it, and it was a pretty good soup – thick and very flavorful.
He also got the chicken and vegetables.
It was super tasty, with no complaints from me.
And, of course, a simple vegetable salad.
Needless to say, I love veggies, and they're always delicious.
Our meal came out to 2.230 rubles.
For Kamchatka, that's a pretty standard price – not too bad at all.
One thing that really stood out to me was the long wait time for our food.
We ordered and waited for at least an hour, even though the restaurant was almost empty - there was only one other table occupied.
The wait was exhausting, and I felt like we wasted a lot of time.
Despite that, we really enjoyed our experience overall.
I'd give it a solid four out of five stars.
