Why I Stopped Buying Dacha Delights Rabbit Ears for My Husky

summarizeEditor's Summary

I gotta say, Dacha Delights rabbit ears were a lifesaver when my Siberian Husky, Bandit, got allergies. Our vet recommended sticking to these treats during his treatment, and they were a total game changer. However, after a while, I started to notice some downsides that made me stop buying them. Here's the deal - they're not suitable for outdoor activities or training, and Bandit could easily swallow them whole without chewing. Not gonna lie, these issues outweighed the benefits for me.

Dacha Delights Rabbit Ears Treats Price and where to buyThese treats can be found on Ozon, Wildberries, and Yandex Market.
I bought 10 packs for 838 rubles over a year ago on Ozon, and it worked out cheaper that way.
Now, the price is 120-264 rubles per pack (Yandex Market has the best price), and 10 packs cost between 1200 and 1699 rubles. The price has gone up, but these treats are still budget-friendly.
Packaging and appearance
The treats come in a small plastic bag with a window, so you can see the ears inside.

On average, there are 5 pieces in each pack.

Rural Delights Ears for Dogs Rabbit EarsRural Delights Ears for Dogs Rabbit Ears Health Benefits
They support oral hygiene, strengthen your dog’s teeth and jaw! They also positively affect digestion and metabolism in dogs! Plus, rabbit ears are super rich in protein! They’re suitable for most allergy sufferers!
My Experience with Them
The ears have a scent, but it’s not overpowering. If your dog takes them for a walk around the apartment, nothing will get dirty or smell bad.
Rural Delights Ears for Dogs Rabbit Ears The packaging says they’re for small breeds, but we have a medium-sized dog, and he loves them. They don’t get him super excited; it’s more like a love affair. 😂 I don’t give them to him that often anymore, so they don’t get boring.
Rabbit Ears TreatsI used to give him the whole ear, but one time he wolfed it down like a stray, barely chewing it. A few days later, the treat came back out the same hole, soggy and half-chewed. That was a pretty gross experience, so I started cutting them in half with kitchen scissors and haven't bought them since.
Rabbit Ears TreatsTo be honest, I'm not a fan of using these treats for training or walks. Even my food-motivated pup takes a while to finish a quarter of an ear, especially the thicker part. And before that, he'll play with it for a bit or stash it somewhere. I'm not a fan of the 5-15 minute wait for a single command. It's not ideal for training, but it's great for distracting or rewarding things like nail trimming.
Rabbit Ears Treats Munching AwayI stopped buying them because of how my pup doesn't thoroughly chew them, and because we use them more for walks and training. For that, we prefer meaty pieces. Cutting these up into smaller pieces is a pain, and for longer chew sessions, we use an elk antler XL. 😂Useful Tips for Dog Owners:
I've gotta give a shoutout to "Glad, Love, Praise: The Un-Boring Guide to Raising a Puppy"; it's been a total game-changer for me when I didn't know where to start. And then there's "Glad, Love, Praise 3: The Un-Boring Guide to Your New Puppy"; it's been a lifesaver when my little furball first arrived.I've also been using the spray against nipping, and it's been a total lifesaver. And let's be real, I've made my fair share of mistakes with the toys from AliExpress, but that's all part of the learning process, right? But one thing that's been a total hit with my pup is the GIGwi "Rabbit" toy with a squeaker; it's been a staple in our household. And of course, who can resist a good treat? My pup goes crazy for the liver snack, and I have to admit, I do too.Last but not least, I've got to give a shoutout to the Joyser Slimmy toy; it's been a total hit with my pup, and the little squeaker inside is just the cherry on top.
