But then my laptop broke down, and my husband got a new one on credit. I asked him to add my camera to his credit, but he refused. So, I had to apply for my own credit. I was nervous that they wouldn't approve me, given that I'm not officially employed. But, surprisingly, Sberbank approved me! I was shocked.

Since there aren't any electronics stores in our village, I went to the DNS online store and started browsing. I didn't have to browse for long, as this was the only somewhat affordable option with decent specs.

I didn't bother reading the camera's description, as I wouldn't have understood it anyway. And, as I mentioned earlier, I didn't really have a choice. I started filling out the order form. Right away, they offered me a 'special deal.' If you buy a 128GB flash drive for 2299 rubles, you get a discount on the camera. In the end, the flash drive cost me around 500 rubles. I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not. I also ordered the first bag I came across, which cost 900 rubles.

The package comes with lens caps, a battery, a strap to hang the camera around your neck, and some other accessories.

I was so fed up with waiting for my order that I ended up opening the package without even getting excited. I picked up the camera, looked at it, and had no idea what to do with it. So, I went to bed.

The next day, I decided to take the camera for a spin.

The photos turned out blue, dark, or overexposed. That was it!

I signed up for a free photography marathon on Contact. Here are the homework assignments from the marathon:

First up, I had to take a few photos to get a feel for the camera's capabilities. I started by taking a close-up shot of the nearest object in focus, and then a wider shot with everything in focus.

I was surprised by how well the camera handled the close-up shot, with the background blurred out nicely. The wider shot, on the other hand, had a more pronounced background blur.

For the second task, I had to take two photos in manual mode (M) - one with a blurry background and the other with a clear background, both while in motion.

The first photo was a bit of a mess, but the second one turned out great, with a clear background and a sharp image.

For the second photo, I had to adjust the shutter speed to get a clear image. The trick is to decrease the shutter speed, but this also makes the image darker, as less light is hitting the sensor.

The lower the number, the shorter the shutter speed. To get a clear image, I had to either shoot in good lighting or increase the ISO. However, keep in mind that higher ISOs can lead to a decrease in image quality.

White balance is crucial. My first photo turned out blue because I hadn't even bothered to adjust it. And if you don't get it right, your photos can end up looking yellow like this:

Of course, practice makes perfect, and I need to work on my exposure and ISO skills. If you're shooting a long exposure, your photos will be blurry. That's where a tripod comes in handy. I've got a pretty basic one, but if you can afford it, invest in a better one. It's worth it for the extra stability and features like weight, size, and material.

I also tried shooting at night without a tripod. It was better than my smartphone, but still not perfect. There's a lot of noise from the high ISO, and it's hard to get a clear shot without a tripod. The maximum exposure without a tripod is tricky to achieve (I had to bump up the ISO), and the photo will be blurry. That's where a tripod comes in:

Once I got the hang of settings, my photos turned out amazing. The key is practice, right? I'm still working on getting the hang of it.
