Today I'm going to review the Brit air-dried pâté with beef for sterilized cats, not the wet food.
I have to admit, my cats aren't fans of pâté. Even when we first started giving it to them, they preferred the wet food, and that's still the case today. I've tried different brands and flavors, but nothing seems to work. I'm determined to figure out why my cats don't like pâté and find a brand that they'll actually eat.
About the Brit pâté:
I recently picked up the Brit pâté at my local Perekrestok store. It's been available for a while now, and it's definitely a premium product. The price is a bit steep, around 500 rubles for a small pack of 400 grams. But I've tried the wet version before, and my cats just wouldn't touch it. I've tried different flavors and varieties, but they just don't seem to like it.
Why don't my cats like Brit? Do you have any ideas?
Despite my previous experience with this brand, I decided to give the Brit pâté another try. The price is much more reasonable, just 90 rubles for a pack. I figured it was worth a shot, especially since my cats don't seem to like any other pâté brand. Maybe this one will be different?

Ingredients:
Meat and meat by-products not less than 80% (including beef at least 4%), taurine, vitamins and minerals, Yucca Schidigera extract, chicory, DL-methionine, cranberry extract.
I'm loving what I see here. No artificial colors or preservatives, a whopping 80% meat content, and taurine for heart health. It's all good for my kitties.
Packaging design:
The packaging is a metal box with a cardboard sleeve featuring all the product details. It's a nice blue color with a gradient, an image of beef and the pâté, which is both eye-catching and trustworthy.

Now let's rip off the packaging. The box is fully gold, with foil on top.
Here's what the box and the cardboard 'cover' look like:
Now I'm peeling off the foil, which is pretty easy to do with the convenient opening tab.
Unfortunately, the foil's already torn, just like it always is with canned goods.
And here's what I'm left with:
The pâté looks appetizing. I'd even eat it on its own - we have a similar pâté at home.
I've portioned out the pâté into three plates - that's why it looks so sparse on the photo. This is only a third of the total amount.
I was relieved to see that the pâté was more appealing to them.
And the most important thing: did the cats even care?
Yes, Elysee did. But not in the same way as the other foods. He'd immediately run over when I called him, whereas with this one, he just lay a little further away. I wasn't sure if he even wanted to eat it, if it was just a false alarm, or if he didn't understand that there was something edible in the bowl.
Then he came over and ate it. Ate his entire serving. I didn't manage to snap a photo because he quickly lost interest, I guess.
Sima is a scaredy-cat, he came over, but didn't check what was in the bowls, probably because I was nearby with Elysee. Yeah, that's our Sima. But I threw Sima a piece from Elysee's bowl. He ate it. Managed to waste a bit of his serving, but that's okay.
Vasiliisa approached the bowls multiple times, but she remained firm in her opinion – sniffed and walked away.
I tried feeding her from my finger. Didn't work. But then Elysee came over and nibbled the whole finger. He's the real gourmand, that one.
So, I'd say that's a win. Last time, they didn't even touch the pâté. I had to give it to some other grateful cats.
Okay, Vasiliisa's opinion doesn't matter to me anymore, she's such a picky eater. What's more important is what Elyse thinks. And he did end up eating it, despite it being pâté, which we don't usually eat.
