I've been to all the main ice skating rinks in St. Petersburg already, so I decided to try something new - go back to my roots. The main ice skating rink has undergone a major transformation since then, and it's now on par with the fancy rinks in Vasilyevsky Island. In fact, the ice quality is even better than some of those rinks.

The main ice skating rink is open from Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 9 pm, and from Friday to Sunday and on holidays from 9 am to 11 pm. You can find it at Elagin Island, 4, and the nearest metro stations are Krestovsky Island and Staraya Derevnya.

What I loved about the main ice skating rink:

A one-hour session costs 200 rubles in the daytime on weekdays, 300 rubles in the evening on weekdays, 300 rubles in the daytime on weekends, and 400 rubles in the evening on weekends. - Honestly, the locker room was ridiculously small, and we had to change on the street because there was no space to sit and get changed. We even had to take off our shoes on the street because there was no place to change in the locker room. - You have to leave your clothes, stuff, and shoes in the locker room, but there's no key to lock it. - The bathroom is actually outside, so you can't even wash your hands after using it. - On weekends, you have to pay to get in, and you need a separate ticket. If you have an EKB card, you can get a discount at the park's ticket booth.So, in a nutshell

Despite all the issues, we were really happy with the ice rink's size and the great polishing job they did. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out, especially if you're looking for a fun way to spend time with your friends or family.
