Belucci Soufflé Candies from Yashkino: A Disappointing Experience

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently tried the Belucci soufflé candies from Yashkino with a creamy vanilla flavor, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. The overly sweet glaze and weird aftertaste were major turn-offs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this candy didn't deliver. The packaging was nice, but that's about where the positives end. If you're looking for a sweet treat, you might want to try something else. I'm not gonna lie, I was really hoping to love these candies, but they just didn't live up to my expectations. The whole experience felt like a big letdown, and I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong.

I recently tried the Belucci soufflé candies from Yashkino with a creamy vanilla flavor, and I have to say, it was a letdown.

Where to buy - marketplaces, Perekrestok
Price - 499 rubles per kilogram

Description:
This glazed soufflé candy has a creamy vanilla flavor based on egg whites and condensed milk. The candy is coated with a glaze, which is supposed to be a key feature, but unfortunately, it's a major letdown.
About the product:
Weight: sold by weight, which is a bit unusual, but I guess it's nice to know exactly how much you're getting.
Packaging: flowpack, which is convenient, but not exactly the most eco-friendly option.
Brand: Yashkino, which I've heard of before, but this is my first time trying their products.
Manufacturer: KDV‐Group, which I'm not familiar with, but I'm sure they're a reputable company.
Shelf life: 5 months, which is a decent amount of time to enjoy the candies before they go bad.
Storage at a temperature of minus 15 to 21°C, which is pretty standard for most candies.
Nutrition facts: 430 / 2 / 20 / 61, which is a bit hard to decipher, but I'm sure it's all good stuff.
Ingredients:
Sugar, vegetable oils, corn syrup, whole milk condensed with sugar (whole milk, skimmed milk, sugar (sucrose), lactose); cocoa powder, cocoa powder, butter, dried egg whites, gelling agent: agar; emulsifiers: mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, soy lecithin, sunflower lecithin, E476; preservative: potassium sorbate; acidity regulator: citric acid; flavorings, salt, color: carotenoids; antioxidants: ascorbic acid, alpha-tocopherol.
Appearance:
Candies in a flowpack, which is a bit messy, to be honest.
The packaging has all the necessary information: manufacturer, production date, etc., which is great, but it's not exactly the most visually appealing thing.
The candies didn't open well, the wrapper tore, which was a bit frustrating.
The chocolate was a bit crushed, which wasn't exactly what I was expecting.
The creamy, smooth mousse is dense and bubble-free, which is a nice touch.
Spoiler alert: the chocolate glaze is stuck to the mousse like glue, and it's impossible to separate them... I don't like that at all.
Even trying to bite into it, I could barely scrape off a tiny bit of the chocolate glaze from the candy...
Taste
ChocolateThe glaze is of mediocre quality, feeling like sand when it dissolves in your mouth. Ugh, I want to spit it out right away. Even the thought of savoring it disappears instantly. The sensation of sand is exactly like in that pastry and those chocolate candies.
MousseThe mousse is dense, creamy, and smooth, with a nice whipped texture and no bubbles. It's just like those chocolate-covered candies with whipped filling, and this one's done well. But it doesn't quite taste like bird's milk. Although, to be fair, that wasn't even a claim.
Feelings
I've had the misfortune of biting into some candies that were completely ruined by one aspect, while others were just okay. Today's experience was a perfect example - the glaze completely overpowered the other flavors, so I won't be buying these again or recommending them. The only redeeming quality was the creamy filling, but the problem is that the chocolate doesn't hold up to it, so even trying to separate them isn't worth it.
(I did manage to get a nice glaze, though - that's what I learned from my capuccinato experience, and I figured out what went wrong)
***
Verdict. The Belucci cream-flavored caramels from Yashkino are a definite no-go. It'll take some serious work to get the glaze right, and even then, I'm not sold.
***
On a more positive note, here are some reviews of candies that I actually enjoyed:
Vkusnye konfety. Odni iz moikh lyubimykh. Beru uzhe bolee 10 let i budu brat)
Zefir Neva Vkusno, byudzhetno
Esfero Interesnyye konfety nashla v Naходke. Budu brat na povtore)
Originalnye konfety. Prekrasno k chayu/koфе. I moi top konfet ot fabriki Konti
Vkusnye, pokhozhi na VISPU. Shokolad ochen ponravilsya. Budu brat
