My Go-To Shower Gel for a Refreshing Morning

The brand's shipping times are pretty slow, and that's a major letdown.When it comes to shower gels, Avon hasn't exactly revolutionized the market. I bought this one because I couldn't find a sample of their new perfume, 'Ginger Blaze,' so I thought I'd try the shower gel to get a sense of the scent before buying the perfume blind. Usually, there's no real surprise in fragrances, but the base notes of this one do a great job of capturing the essence of the scent.

I really liked the perfume, but I'll be talking about it separately. The Avon Perfect Nonsense Ginger Blaze Shower Gel is a nice addition to their 'Perfect Nonsense' collection, and it's a great way to experience the scent before buying the matching perfume.

The scent of the Avon Perfect Nonsense Ginger Blaze Shower Gel is pretty intriguing. The fragrance pyramid features a nice balance of notes, starting with a spicy kick of ginger, lemon, and petitgrain. At the heart, you've got a lovely blend of orange blossom, turmeric, and lavender. The base notes are a nice mix of cedar, patchouli, and hay.

The description sounds pretty appealing, and it's not every day you see hay, turmeric, or ginger used in a fragrance. The scent is warm, slightly sweet, and invigorating, with a touch of synthetic notes. I'm not one to bash perfumes for synthetic ingredients, but I do wish the scent lasted a bit longer.

The formula includes soft, surface-active ingredients like sodium laureth sulfate or C14-16 olefin sulfonate sodium for cleaning, moisturizing components like glycerin, and cocamidopropyl betaine as a co-surfactant and foam stabilizer.

It also contains sodium chloride as a viscosity regulator (salt) and a fragrance composition with key notes of ginger and hay. Citric acid is used to balance the pH.

The consistency is moderate in thickness. The gel foams well with a loofah sponge or a mesh loofah, but other materials struggle to create a rich lather and increase the gel usage.

I was really impressed with how rich and creamy this gel is. The lather doesn't last too long, but it's great for cleaning and rinsing off. I didn't experience any irritation, and it doesn't dry out my skin - although I did feel a tiny bit of tightness.

Given that it's not meant to stay on your skin for long, the manufacturer's focus on gentle cleansing makes sense. They've added some moisturizing ingredients, but they don't make a big deal about it. Honestly, it's not like it's going to do much good with such a short contact time. Its main job is to clean, and it does that well.

I'd definitely recommend it.
