Why I Stick with Aquaforte's Country Water Filter After 10 Years

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been using water filters for over 10 years, and Aquaforte's Country Water Filter has been my go-to choice for the past decade. I picked it initially for its convenience, ease of use, and effectiveness in removing salts from the water. The filter's compact design and lightweight build have made it a staple in my household. It's consistently delivered on its promises, making it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient water filtration system. I've tried other great water filters out there, but Aquaforte's has been the most reliable and efficient one for my family's needs.

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well!
Water filters have become a normal part of our lives. I remember when people with health issues were the only ones who used them, but now it's a common practice for anyone who cares about their health.
I've been using water filters for over a decade, and I've stuck with the Aquaforte brand since day one.
I chose the Aquaforte filter back in the day based on a few simple criteria:
I wanted a filter that was also a container, as it's way more convenient, especially in a family setting.I preferred something that was easy to insert and remove, since I'm not exactly tech-savvy.Most importantly, I needed a filter that could remove salts from the water, as we have high levels of carbonates in our area due to limestone deposits, which can cause joint problems and other issues. The Aquaforte filters met all of these criteria, and I was really happy with them.
But what really surprised me was how many more benefits this product had beyond what I initially thought.
I've had my fair share of water filters over the years, and I've tried out different models like the 'Extra' and 'Prestige' before settling on the 'Country' model from Aquaforte.
I'll be sharing my review of it below.
4 out of 5 stars
Product Details
4/5 Name: "Country Water Filter by Aquaforte"
4/5 Manufacturer: OOO "Aquaforte", Russia
4/5 Price and where to buy: I bought it at Magnit, where they often have discounts on the filter itself and replacement cartridges.
The price was 575 rubles on the 15th of the month, which is a discount day.
4/5 Capacity of the filter and spout: 3.9, 1.9 liters
4/5 Filter speed: 3-10 minutes per spout
4/5 Does it meet the parameters?: YES.
What does this filter remove?
chlorine,
salt,
heavy metal impurities, including colloidal iron

Filter Design
Product description from the manufacturer:
The Country Water Filter by Aquaforte will help you take care of your health and the health of your loved ones. The large spout capacity also allows you to fill a big container at once, making it very convenient. This filter will be a source of health and good mood for everyone in your home. Lid: solid
While all similar filters from the manufacturer differ slightly in design, lid placement, and capacity, the Country model has become my go-to choice.
I've found the 'Country' to be the most convenient in terms of volume - it's easy to filter into a three-liter pot for cooking for the whole family.
It also has a standard, flat shape, a sturdy and straight handle, and a lid with a flip-down 'nose' that does a great job of sealing the filter from dust and, ah, cat hair.
With three furry pets at home, I end up closing everything with lids)
The lid fits snugly, so you need to remove it from the little grooves for it to fall into the container. This way, it won't accidentally drop in.
The handle is comfortable to hold, with non-slip grips that are really useful when using it on the kitchen counter. It's got a few curved bits, but it's not too flashy - I prefer it to some of the other Aquaforte models that have more elaborate designs.
The part where the filter is located is colored and opaque, so you can't see the filtration process. On the other hand, the container is transparent, so you can see how much water has been filtered.
The replacement filter fits snugly, and I didn't notice any leaks. Plus, it's easy to install – even a kid could do it.
When I bought the filter, it came in a bulky box with all the necessary instructions and promotional materials – plus a separate sales pitch for the replacement filter.
Everything was wrapped in protective packaging and boxes, and there was even a universal instruction manual included for all types of "Aquaforte" water filters.
The key features of "Country":
The benefits of "Aquaforte" filters: At the bottom, you'll find information about the manufacturer and where to contact them in case of any issues, but thankfully, I've never had to reach out to them during my time using these filters.

Replacement cartridges.
The filter came with a replacement cartridge, but honestly, it wears out way faster than the filter itself. I've bought them separately, and there are a few types that are mostly universal for all filters.
Personally, I didn't notice a huge difference between them, but the main thing is that they fit the filter's spout and don't let water pass through.Even when I bought it, the manufacturer offered a warranty.
☆☆❤☆☆
Material:
It's made of plastic.
One thing I noticed about the cartridge filter is that it's a carbon-based sorbent.

Color:
I've noticed that this brand only seems to offer red and green options for this model. To be honest, the red one looks a bit too bright for my taste, while the green one reminds me of clean water.
4 out of 5 stars
How it works:
It's pretty straightforward, even for someone like me who's not exactly a tech whiz.
When you first get the filter, you just need to rinse it with warm water and a mild detergent. Make sure to clean both the funnel and the surface of the cartridge.
Once you've done that, simply insert the cartridge, follow the instructions, and you're good to go.
Next, simply run a few cycles of water through the funnel, and you're ready to use the filter for drinking water.
You can use either cold or warm water, but make sure to avoid hot water, as it can damage the sorbent and render it ineffective.
The water that comes out is crystal clear, with a slightly sweet taste that's reminiscent of soft water.
I've been wondering whether this water filter actually works, especially when I pour in clear water and it comes out looking the same. To be honest, I can't really tell if the taste has changed - it doesn't seem to be a dramatic difference.
But if our tap water had a strong chlorine smell or was cloudy with rust or other visible impurities...
As it is, our water is just hard, which is noticeable when it leaves a big, fluffy white residue after boiling. And, of course, it's chlorinated like most tap water in Russia, although the smell isn't too overpowering.
It's tough to check for metal contaminants, nitrates, and chlorine in the filtered water at home, although I do notice that the chlorine smell disappears completely after passing through the 'Aquaforte' filter.
On the other hand, you can check for carbonate salts by boiling the water - if there's no residue left behind, that's a good sign.
Even if you boil the filtered water, there's no residue left behind -
☆☆❤☆☆
Maintaining the filter:
The filter is easy to clean - I just rinse it with clean water or a soft soap. To get rid of any water spots on the outside, I wipe it down with some vinegar.
☆☆❤☆☆
Filter lifespan:
I've found that the filter cartridge lasts me around a month and a half, taking into account that I use filtered water for cooking and also use it to water my plants quite often.
The filter's performance is easy to gauge: it starts to slow down, but the water doesn't taste or smell any different, which is super convenient.
The actual container itself can last more than a year, but it starts to look a bit worn out due to plastic aging and minor cracks if you're not careful with it. The plastic is quite thin and prone to breaking.
However, if you don't have little kids at home, the container should last longer.
☆☆❤☆☆
Takeaways:
I'd definitely recommend this water filter for home use. It has many great features:
it's got a decent capacity, is lightweight, and compact,it's easy to carry and has a removable lid,the filter cartridge is easy to replace,it filters water quickly,it removes the main impurities from tap water: salts, chlorine, nitrates, the water tastes great and has no chlorine smell,it looks nice,it's easy to clean, the filter cartridges last a long time, and it's a quality product. As for downsides, I haven't found any in the 'Country' 'Aquaforte' filter. I'm completely satisfied with it.
(o˘◡˘o) Wishing you all the coziness and happy shopping!
