A Tool for Destroying Old Values and Morals - Now Teaching Kids to Be Shameless and Hopeless

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this movie's twisted take on beloved fairy tales. The whole thing feels like a mess, with characters that are more caricatures than actual people. The writing's lazy, and the message is just plain wrong. I'm not sure what the creators were thinking, but this movie's a total letdown. It's not just the fact that they're trying to ruin our childhood favorites – it's the way they're doing it that's really disturbing. The whole thing feels like a shallow attempt to be edgy, and it falls flat. I mean, who thought this was a good idea?

Fairy tales, cartoons, and movies play a huge role in shaping and educating people, especially kids. They lay the foundation for our values and morals.
The ‘trendy’ fairy tales, movies, and cartoons have a massive impact on kids and teenagers. They try to be like the main heroines, copying their hairdos, clothes, and habits. It starts with the heroines and then spreads to their friends.
And our girls want a prince just like in the cartoons. First, it’s the cartoons, then the movies, series, and so on.
The impact is huge, but maybe it’s not as obvious as I’m writing. Let’s take a closer look at this movie.
At the beginning, we’re greeted by old and beloved heroes:
Princess Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping BeautyThis is Cinderella, the clever and hardworking one. But the movie decides to destroy the classic Cinderella image. She’s portrayed as a silly girl in high heels. The character is built in a way that girls shouldn’t look up to her positively.
After watching the ‘Enchanted Prince’ fairy tale, no girl will want to emulate Cinderella.
Cinderella It’s no surprise. The director and screenwriter, Ross Venkler, presented his continuation of the Cinderella story. The prince never married Cinderella. He didn’t even love her. Just a fleeting infatuation. There are other deceived brides.
Sleeping Beauty is another victim of the ‘Enchanted Prince’. She’s beautiful, that’s it. Thank you, at least for that. But there’s nothing more to her. No character, no life. That’s exactly what we see in this heroine. A mess.
Sleeping BeautyThe prince doesn’t want to marry her; he just strings her along.
Snow White is the classic princess, far from the last victim of the ‘Enchanted Prince’. She’s portrayed as an hysterical girl. The character evokes no positive emotions whatsoever.
Snow WhiteWhere did all the good and kindness go? You’ve ridiculed and distorted it. That’s sad.
The saddest part is yet to come.
In contrast to our princesses, a new image is created. Lenor Quinonez is a cheat and a thief.
Lenor QuinonzeI was surprised by how the slyness and audacity of this girl in the movie were portrayed as positive.
The female character is disgusting, but it’s so skillfully drawn that kids will definitely prefer her, just like the prince.
These are the kind of people our girls will look up to, and our boys will admire.
Ross Venokur’s creation of this disgusting world with terrible relationships between people is a real shame. I’m talking about this specific work – ‘The Ugly Prince’. From the very start, Lenor Quinonze robbed Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Cinderella.
Lenor Quinonze Do you like this?
The main character of the story is Philip the Ugly Prince. I couldn’t find a single redeeming quality in him.
Philip the Ugly PrinceThis is a typical representation of the modern guy (bad role model). He’s unable to do anything, doesn’t know how to do anything, but he’s charming and confident in his charm (even if it’s just because of the magic).
When evaluating this character, you can’t help but wonder – is the screenwriter, who’s also the director, a closeted gay person?
This is the kind of future that these kinds of stories are programming for our kids.
I didn’t see any kindness, warmth in this story. It’s absolutely disgusting.
I won’t give away the plot. I think the ‘amazing’ characters are enough to never show this to your kids. Or watch it when you’re older. NOT 6+!!!
When watching this movie, pay attention to the relationships between the characters. These are the kind of relationships that will become a “template’ for your kids.
It’s not cool to be a good girl anymore.
Being a strong, brave, and smart boy isn’t cool either.
My video review of this movie:
I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this work. Let’s discuss in the comments
