A Game Changer for My Dog's Digestive Issues - My Honest Review of FortiFlora Purina PRO PLAN

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was skeptical at first, but FortiFlora Purina PRO PLAN has genuinely been a game changer for my pup's digestive issues. My dog's been taking it for a month now, and the difference is night and day. The vet said it's because of the live probiotics that help regulate her gut, but whatever the science behind it is, I'm just happy to see my furry friend happy and healthy. The best part? It's easy to give her - just sprinkle it on her food, and she gobbles it right up. I've tried other probiotics before, but this one's got a great value for money, and the shipping was super fast too.

Hello fellow dog owners! I'm writing this review as a warning and a recommendation for anyone dealing with their furry friend's digestive issues.
My poor pup was recently diagnosed with stomach ulcers, and it's been a nightmare. The vet prescribed some meds to reduce acidity, but they had a weird side effect: my dog lost her appetite. I was worried sick about her hemoglobin levels, and anemia was a real concern.
The vet recommended a special diet, but let's just say it wasn't exactly appetizing. I had to force-feed her, and it was a real challenge. Another vet suggested trying FortiFlora Purina PRO PLAN, a probiotic supplement that's supposed to help with digestion.
Cost
After spending around 40,000 rubles on my dog's treatment, I was hesitant to shell out 115 rubles for a packet of FortiFlora. But, considering the cost per gram, it's actually quite reasonable. 100 grams of the supplement costs 11,500 rubles, and 1 kilogram is a whopping 115,000 rubles. I guess you could say it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it.
Packaging
The individual packets are made of silicone-coated paper, which isn't the most convenient thing in the world. Once you open it, you can't close it again, so you'll have to store the leftovers carefully.
Ingredients
"Dried extracts of pork by-products, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Taurine, Complex of macro- and microelements, Microencapsulated probiotic Enterococcus faecium SF 68 and filler — cereal grain."
On the bright side, the ingredients are all natural.
Here are the added goodies:
"Microencapsulated probiotic: Enterococcus faecium SF 68 1x10^12 CFU/kg. ME/kg: vitamin C: 1540; vitamin E: 7500 mg/kg; iron: 976; zinc: 1532; manganese: 172; copper: 149; selenium: 3; iodine: 21."
So, in addition to lactobacillus, the supplement contains microelements and vitamins.
Country of origin: USA
Indications for use:
"Imbalance of the intestinal microflora (dysbacteriosis, gastroenteritis and diarrhea, poor stool quality); Prevention of the imbalance of the intestinal microflora (change of the usual environment, diet, treatment with antibiotics, general decrease in immunity, long trips, stress)"
Considering all this, the supplement is harmless and can be used whenever you need to feed your dog or replenish the lactobacillus.
Smell
It smells like barbecue chips, which is pretty weird, but my dog loves it.
Color
The powder is brown with some specks.
Method of use
Just sprinkle it over your dog's food, and it's like adding a pinch of salt.
Availability of analogues
Yes, there are domestic analogues that are twice as cheap, but they need to be stored in the fridge. So, they're not as convenient as FortiFlora.
Effect
The effect is real, my dog loves the food now, and the probiotic supplement has definitely improved her digestion.
My Verdict
So, after trying FortiFlora, I can say that it works, improves digestion, and makes the food super appealing to my dog. Of course, there are cheaper alternatives, but they're not as convenient. I'd recommend FortiFlora to anyone dealing with their dog's digestive issues.
Why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5:
- It's a bit pricey for a probiotic supplement.
- The packaging isn't the most convenient thing in the world.
